Speedy deletion nomination of Bijan Abdolkarimi
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Bijan Abdolkarimi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Thine Antique Pen (talk) 15:21, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
Userfying an Article
[edit]Hello علی پیرحیاتی
I see that you are requesting to have the article on Bijan Abdolkarimi relisted. Might I suggest that you request to have it moved to your userspace instead? If that happened, then you could add the required notability information, then submit it for review as a potential new article. You can find a list of admins who will userfy your article here. If you have any questions, please feel free to post them at the Teahouse or on my userpage. Cheers, Ebikeguy (talk) 16:17, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you. In fact, I know these regulations and I have more than 14000 edits in Persian Wikipedia. The problem is that most of the sources about this person are in Persian. So, a person who knows Persian, should consider his notability. Anyway, I request userfication. --Ali Pirhayati (talk) 17:56, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
- Hi, I'll shortly post the deleted text here The problem wasn't that the references were in Persian, it's that the article didn't explain why he is notable.
- We have a one paragraph spammy start — who says he is prominent?
- We have an OR list of his supposed views, without a single in-line reference to support it
- We have a list of his book, which for all I know have sold one copy each
- You are an experienced editor, so you know the importance of in-line citations, especially in biographies of living people, and especially when you are claiming to know his views. He may well be notable, but the article as it stood didn't tell us why and didn't properly reference the claimed text. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:05, 21 August 2012 (UTC)

I edited the page and add some in-line references. May you reconsider it?Ali Pirhayati (talk) 19:10, 21 August 2012 (UTC)
Hi again, obviously much better with the refs. I tidied a bit, including removing "distinguished", which looks spammy, otherwise mainly MoS, link to Heidegger etc.
- Two of your "views" appear to have inadvertently rolled into one. I've separated them, but that leaves the third bullet point unreffed. Obviously you will need to fix that.
- I think there is still some doubt about whether he meets WP:Notability (academics). He appears to be an academic doing what academics do, and writing a few books. Obviously I'm handicapped by not being able to read Persian.
- Once you have added the missing "views" ref, I'd suggest that you move it into article space. It won't be eligible for speedy deletion since it has refs and isn't spammy. It's possible that it might be tagged for notability, but there's only one way to find out!
Good luck Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:10, 23 August 2012 (UTC)

The article Author reading has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Wikipedia is not a dictionary, but rather an encyclopedia about notable topics.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Cindy(talk) 19:11, 7 December 2013 (UTC)
non-latin username
[edit]However, there is a small issue with your username. As it is in a non-Latin alphabet script it may not display correctly for many other users. Although usernames like yours are not prohibited, Wikipedia's signature guideline and username policy encourage you, as a courtesy to other users, to alter your signature so that it also includes a translation of your username using Latin characters, so others can see it correctly. For the how-to of tailoring your username, please see WP:CUSTOMSIG.
Thanks, and feel free to message me about anything. --Frze > talk 11:55, 22 January 2014 (UTC)

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of James Giles (philosopher), and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.james-giles.com/bio.html.
It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.
If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. Speedy deletion nomination of Carl Raschke
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Carl Raschke requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from https://web.archive.org/web/20130531061043/http://carlraschke.com/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 16:06, 23 February 2014 (UTC)

Contributor copyright investigation
[edit]Hello, علی پیرحیاتی. As you know, some copyright issues were flagged recently with some of your contributions. Unfortunately, on closer evaluation, it seems that you may have had a previously undiscovered habit of copying content from your sources. It seems obvious to me that you were working on good faith, as you have cited every source that I've yet found, but unfortunately this is simply not something we can do on Wikipedia. It is very unusual for a source to be free for copying in that way.
I have had to remove content from several articles you created and have listed your contributions for a "contributor copyright investigation" (CCI) so that they can be evaluated against our copyright policies. The intention of a CCI is simply to address outstanding copyright issues. You can help by reviewing the articles yourself and proactively removing or rewriting any copied content that you find. The listing is here: Wikipedia:Contributor copyright investigations/20140301. If you address a copyright issue in any article, please feel free to make a note beneath the listing. Something like this would work:
:Problem addressed. --~~~~
The article will still need to be reviewed by somebody else, but it will both help reviewers and demonstrate your improved understanding of our copyright policies. To that end, I would recommend reading Wikipedia:Copy-paste as well as the policies and guidelines to which it links.
If you have any questions, please let me know. If you add User:Moonriddengirl
to your note, I will be alerted that it is here, which will help me avoid inadvertently overlooking it. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 17:04, 1 March 2014 (UTC)
Copying from one page to another
[edit]Hello.
I've just noticed that on March 19, you created the article Moral intellectualism by copying substantial content from the article Intellectualism. While it is permissible to copy content from one article to another, content on Wikipedia is not public domain and the terms of the license must be met. Unless you meet these terms, this copying is as much a copyright problem as copying content from sites that are not compatibly licensed.
The way to meet the licensing term on Wikipedia is to give credit for the copying at minimum in edit summary and often also on the talk page. This is a required step. I have provided the attribution at Moral intellectualism to resolve the copyright problem there. If you wish to move content from one page to another, or from one project to another, in future, please be sure to follow those necessary steps. You can read more about how to do them and why at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thanks. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 10:54, 16 May 2014 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of The Stone (blog)
[edit]Hello علی پیرحیاتی,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged The Stone (blog) for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Vanjagenije (talk) 17:34, 3 July 2014 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Wireless Philosophy
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Wireless Philosophy requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". The article Bulent Diken has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. [edit]Your recent editing history at Opposition to copyright shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. 331dot (talk) 13:42, 13 March 2017 (UTC)

Ways to improve Kenneth Laine Ketner
[edit]Hi, I'm Innisfree987. Pirhayati, thanks for creating Kenneth Laine Ketner!
I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Hi there, thanks for your contribution! If possible, it would be great to add references to reviews of Ketner's work--typically a named chair at a large research university like Texas Tech satisfies WP:NACADEMIC but evidence of independent attention to his work would really help bring the entry up to WP standards, as even in the case of academics, entries should be based on secondary sources as much as possible. Thanks!
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Speedy deletion nomination of Dialog and Peace Award
[edit]A tag has been placed on Dialog and Peace Award requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
There's no mention of the award in the target article
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Disambiguating Karen Green
[edit]Hello Pirhayati. You created Karen L. Green and Karen Green. The artist is almost never referred to as Karen L. Green, so I wanted to propose that we move her page to Karen Green (artist) and move Karen Green to Karen Green (philosopher), and turn Karen Green into a disambiguation page and redirect Karen L. Green to Karen Green (artist). Do you think that could work? --Vexations (talk) 12:09, 12 August 2018 (UTC)
- Hi. Right now if you search Karen Green in Google, she appears as Karen L. Green in the Knowledge Graph. She is also referred to as Karen L. Green in David Foster Wallace. I thought that maybe the natural disambiguation is better, but feel free to change the titles as you wish. Ali Pirhayati (talk) 12:26, 12 August 2018 (UTC)
- The knowledge graph derives its information in part from Wikipedia, so we created that situation. I'll make the change. Thanks, --Vexations (talk) 14:44, 12 August 2018 (UTC)
- Ok, but the knowledge graph was like that before creating her page in Wikipedia. Ali Pirhayati (talk) 18:43, 12 August 2018 (UTC)
- And it'll probably get a bit more complicated because of the sheer number of Karen Greens. At least one other is also an artist, and it looks as if several others have published a book. Vexations (talk) 22:42, 12 August 2018 (UTC)

The article Centre for Moral, Social and Political Theory has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Not separately notable
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. DGG ( talk ) 08:11, 18 September 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to Russ Shafer-Landau. I noticed that when you added the image to the infobox, you added it as a thumbnail. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:
|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]
Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:
|image=SomeImage.jpg
.
There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption
. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks! Zipi Israeli moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Zipi Israeli, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. signed, Rosguill talk 23:17, 25 September 2018 (UTC)

Circularity
[edit]You've created three articles, Wolfe Mays, British Society for Phenomenology, and Journal of the British Society for Phenomenology advancing the case that :
- Mays is notable for founding the society and editing the journal;
- The society is notable for being founded by Mays and publishing the journal; and
- The journal is notable for being edited by Mays and published by the society.
That reads like a pretty closed-off little backwater they're stuck in. Have none of them made an impact on the wider world to show their notability? Cabayi (talk) 11:20, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
- Well, I didn't add to the references of Wolfe Mays because I thought his notability is obvious. He is not notable because of the society ane the journal. He is notable because of his significant contributions and prominent students. I'll add the references. Ali Pirhayati (talk) 11:33, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
- How would it be obvious if you don't state it? The journal has already been redirected to the society by another editor. And, Mays can't WP:INHERIT notability from his students - though it won't hurt to link to them. Cabayi (talk) 10:21, 14 November 2018 (UTC)
- Notability does not need to be stated in the article (Article content does not determine notability). It is obvious by a small search. You can bring him to AFD if you want.Ali Pirhayati (talk) 10:27, 14 November 2018 (UTC)
- I'm not just talking about the biography.
- What's the point of the article if you won't state why the topic is notable? Cabayi (talk) 10:42, 14 November 2018 (UTC)
- 1. No matter what the article is about, notability does not need to be stated in the article.
- 2. The point of every article is public distribution of information(!), but the notability may not be clear from the content. If another user is uncertain about notability, he can search different sources, he can tag the article or bring it to AFD and pursue the process until the notability is proven/rejected. Ali Pirhayati (talk) 11:04, 14 November 2018 (UTC)
- So, someone googles one of these 3 topics, comes to wikipedia to find out more... and your best idea is that they should go back to google??? That defeats the whole point of wikipedia. Cabayi (talk) 11:47, 14 November 2018 (UTC)
- First, I spoke about a Wikipedian not "someone". The general user will not need to search about notability. Second, that's what the guideline says. You can discuss the problem with the guideline in its talk page. Ali Pirhayati (talk) 11:54, 14 November 2018 (UTC)
- I refer you back to your own point - "The point of every article is public distribution of information" ~ that's public, not just editors. That point is not best served by sending readers back to google for more information. Despite your repeated assertions that AFD is the way forward, I'd prefer that the articles were improved to make the point of the subjects' notability. You claim you have the additional information, yet fight back at every request to include it. I don't understand your logic. Cabayi (talk) 12:25, 14 November 2018 (UTC)
- I did not send readers back to google for more information. I created a stub article and I mentioned that it is a stub and others should help completing it (I may have wanted to complete it in the future). It's a common practice in Wikipedia. Many articles are stub. AFD is not an alternative to improving the article; it is a process for discussing about notability. Any article can be improved no matter how notable it is. The notability is a problem within Wikipedia. A notable article may be stub and incomplete while a non-notable article may be long and full of information. Ali Pirhayati (talk) 13:28, 14 November 2018 (UTC)
