Unblock request

Request reason:
I'm trying to do a "Standard offer". I was blocked about six months ago. Since my block I've been collaborating heavily in the Portuguese Wikipedia and I helped to improve significantly articles about movies and women's soccer. I helped to improve the NWSL's article in Portuguese and the articles of all NWSL's teams. I helped to improve several film's articles and I created many others. I've been very active in the Portuguese Wikipedia. I'll keep my activities there because they need more collaborators, but I also want to be able to edit in the English Wikipedia. I'm fully aware that I broke the community trust and I deeply regret it. I promise I'll never do it again. I kindly ask the admin (or admins) reviewing my case to consider all the "good things" I did before my wrongdoing. Regards.
Accept reason:

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Hi
Hi SirEdimon - no I'm from England! Thanks I will sign up again at the women's soccer task force. I was active there under my previous user names, which was apparently naughty and that amongst other things led to me copping a few blocks (which have all since been overturned). Thanks for your excellent work on creating Portuguese player articles. For some reason they appear to be very underrepresented on here compared to women players from other countries? Hopefully we can improve that. Bring back Daz Sampson (talk) 19:32, 28 December 2018 (UTC)
- Bring back Daz Sampson I really appreciate your contributions to the article I created. I have created articles for all players who participated in the UEFA Women's Euro 2017 and didn't have an article. Now, all the players who took part in that tournament have their own articles. The Portuguese players really struggle to make a living as football players, since Portugal has no professional women's league, many of them have to work in other jobs to get enough money to survive. As I speak Portuguese I find easy to read the journalistic articles and put the info on the Wikipedia articles. As English is my second language I really appreciate those ones who eventually fix any mistakes I made in the articles. Your contributions to women's football are really valuable. Thanks.--SirEdimon (talk) 20:57, 28 December 2018 (UTC)

DYK for Melissa Antunes
On 14 January 2019, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Melissa Antunes, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Portugal international footballer Melissa Antunes teaches at a university and started a sports agency? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Melissa Antunes. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Melissa Antunes), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Suggestions
this on its own is the opposite of helping. I have a talk page. You are asked to use it when doing something like this. It says "suggestions". I don't see anything which tells you that is not the right place to present suggestions. I don't want a debate about it. I waited ten minutes. All you did was blank my suggestion that I left in the suggestion area with the summary, "not right place". I am unimpressed. If the Suggestion section is not the place to leave suggestions there should be a hatnote to explain the confusion, not blanking of suggestions :/ ~ R.T.G 00:48, 21 January 2019 (UTC)
- RTG That is a place to suggest ITN and RDs to appear in the Main Page, not to suggest new policies regarding what should or shouldn't appear on the Main Page. Please read the rules. You should use the page's talk page. Regards.--SirEdimon (talk) 00:55, 21 January 2019 (UTC)
- I pressed the button that says "suggestions" and I posted in the section where I landed called "Suggestions". I mean, you could say, "Please read the rules" and I could say, "But they don't cover this..." You could say, "Not the right place" and I could say, "I didn't simply choose this place," ~ R.T.G 01:08, 21 January 2019 (UTC)
- This is a typical modern internet experience! ~ R.T.G 01:11, 21 January 2019 (UTC)
- RTG On the top of the page where you published your "suggestion" it's clearly written: "This page provides a forum for editors to suggest items for inclusion in Template:In the news (ITN), a protected Main Page template, as well as the forum for discussion of candidates." If you don't believe me, ask it for any admin. I'm not trying to prevent you from expressing your opinion, but the place you posted it, it's not the right place to post it. Regards.--SirEdimon (talk) 01:16, 21 January 2019 (UTC)
Well I have explained where the confusion came from. When I click the suggestions button and the first section is the suggestions section, I tend to think I am in the right pace first and before I start looking into the small print. And it doesn't say this is not the place for certain suggestions in that note you are quoting, which is the normal situation for a project page where there may be some confusion. I pressed the suggestions button. I posted in the suggestions section there. It would take some time for me to read all the rules every time I pressed the apparently right buttons. You could say, "Well you should read everything every time then," and it would just be another example of how opportunistically easy it can seem to avoid either conceding or helping a person, when you could of just put it in the edit summary where you believed the "right place" would be, if indeed you know. ~ R.T.G 01:42, 21 January 2019 (UTC)- Look it's broken. Best of luck thanks o/ ~ R.T.G 01:44, 21 January 2019 (UTC)

A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. DYK for Catarina Macario
On 26 March 2019, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Catarina Macario, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Brazilian-born Catarina Macario won three of the most prestigious American college soccer awards in the same year? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Catarina Macario. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Catarina Macario), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Famousbirthdays.com as a source
Hi SirEdimon. I noticed that you recently used famousbirthdays.com as a source for biographical information in Olivia Moultrie. Please note that there is general consensus that famousbirthdays.com does not meet the reliable sourcing criteria for the inclusion of personal information in such articles. (See (RSP entry)). Celebstrendnow.com appears to be far worse as a source. If you disagree, let's discuss it. Thanks. --Ronz (talk) 17:23, 23 April 2019 (UTC)

Hi SirEdimon -- Er, sorry about that... Always best to check that sort of prose for copyvio before nominating. There seem to be plenty of obituaries, so hopefully it will be easy to reconstruct based on them. Cheers, Espresso Addict (talk) 01:36, 7 July 2019 (UTC)
- Espresso Addict No problem. Copyvio must to be removed anyway and better now then later.--SirEdimon (talk) 00:32, 8 July 2019 (UTC)
- Indeed, thanks for working to restore the bio. I'll take another look at it once I've refreshed my espresso level. (And PS I'm sorry the actor didn't pan out; I realised as soon as I'd committed my Google translating the source to print that I couldn't post it; I was hoping another admin might do so but they all seem to have been either on vacation or strike over the Fram kerfuffle.) - Hey Espresso Addict, thanks for the help with João Gilberto. About the actor, it's alright. I tried and it didn't pan out. No problem. I understand it, we are getting short on admins since the Fram thing.--SirEdimon (talk) 22:16, 8 July 2019 (UTC)

Category:United States men's under-17 international soccer players
I've reverted your addition of articles to this category and emptied it - Category:United States men's youth international soccer players exists and is for all youth levels up to U19. That is long-established standard at WP:FOOTBALL - one category for all 'youth', one category for U20/U21 (depending on confederation), one for U23 (if applicable), and one for senior. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and paywalled sources
Thanks for your edit to Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Just fyi, the Folha article is not behind a paywall for me. (Sometimes it depends on what region of the world your IP is in.) Even if it is paywalled for everybody, that wouldn’t be a reason to remove it, or even comment about it in the edit summary. You could, if you wanted, add |url-access=subscription
(or "registration", as the case may be) to the {{cite web}} template – that would be helpful. See also WP:PAYWALL. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 01:29, 5 September 2019 (UTC)
- Mathglot First of all, I didn't remove the Folha article exactly because, despite it's under a paywall, it's a reliable source. I just removed the Telesur source because it's obviously not reliable.--SirEdimon (talk) 02:10, 5 September 2019 (UTC)
- Yes, I saw that, of course. You did the right thing. I only wanted to point out the part about paywall accessibility sometimes being different, which I gleaned from the way you worded the summary. I do have access to it, and if you want the entire article, I can email it to you through the site. Let me know, Mathglot (talk) 04:19, 5 September 2019 (UTC)
Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Romulus & Remus, The First King (2019) Film Poster.jpeg
Thank you for uploading File:Romulus & Remus, The First King (2019) Film Poster.jpeg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.
This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 3 November 2019 (UTC)

When you undo a redirect of an article, like Beings (film), don't forget to check the talk page too. That was also redirected and it wasn't cohesive. Zinnober9 (talk) 05:26, 29 November 2019 (UTC)
