Orphaned non-free media (File:Sportingkansascity.png)

Thanks for uploading File:Sportingkansascity.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:24, 8 April 2013 (UTC)

Hi Jon, I am wondering if you can help out... I made an article, my first on Wiki about James Georgeff - an ex international drafted from college to Houston Dynamo. The admins have put it up for deletion for reasons of him not being pro - even though he played minutes in reserves and certain friendlys with dyanmo among teams in portugal and germany! I think they are targeting the article, I would appreciate your obvious better knowledge on the game and helping me to support my first article to stay online. Please take a look and advise me if you can. Thank you! Look at the Article James Georgeff. Thats the one. (Samej1902 (talk) 19:42, 16 August 2013 (UTC))

Please take a look and add your thoughts to the page up for deletion 'James Georgeff' I would appreciate your input when you have the time, to add your thoughts on the page for deletion. I added this article which passes notoriety on multiple levels, yet it is up for deletion. Your soccer knowledge would be much appreciated. Thanks! (Samej1902 (talk) 12:03, 18 August 2013 (UTC))

Some Help - Trying to add my first article, would like advice how best to do it.

I noticed you are in the mix when it comes to soccer and soccer players. I would like to ask for your help in creating and posting an article here on a professional soccer player. How can I private email you or call you to discuss? Sorry, I am rather new to wiki :)

The article Columbus Shooting Stars has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

fails WP:N, WP:NSPORTS

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Composer credit

When there is no straight-forward composer credit, no one is listed in the infobox. But I did add the new Music section to American Sniper (film):

There is no "Music by" credit on this film. Composer and music editor Joseph S. DeBeasi is credited as composer of additional music, and Clint Eastwood, who has composed the scores for most of his films since Mystic River (2003), is credited as the composer of "Taya's theme". - Gothicfilm (talk) 19:51, 30 January 2015 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on London City Soccer Club requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Invite to the African Destubathon

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:13, 6 October 2016 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Aaztex.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Aaztex.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:22, 21 February 2017 (UTC)

Your contributed article, Real Shore FC (WPSL)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Real Shore FC (WPSL). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Real Shore F.C.. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Real Shore F.C.. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Rusf10 (talk) 22:27, 10 January 2018 (UTC)

Stadium uploads

Hi JonBroxton, a decade ago, you uploaded a number of stadium photos (File:Ristingraysstadium.jpg, File:Sfvquakesstadium.jpg, File:Cinternationalsstadium.jpg, etc). When you did so, you stated that they were your own work. Could you elaborate on that, please? Did you physically hold the camera in your hand and click the button? My concern is that they are all web-resolution photos with no EXIF data and I would like to be sure that you didn't, say, screenshot them from Bing Maps or some such thing. --B (talk) 12:12, 10 October 2018 (UTC)

If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Disambiguation link notification for August 23

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited International Film Music Critics Association Award for Breakthrough Composer of the Year, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page James Peterson. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 05:56, 23 August 2021 (UTC)

A beer for you!

Hi Jon,

You wrote on wikipedia about the Floridians a long time ago when we were in the PDL. they have since moved on and have concentrated on building our infrastructures. Much has changed since then but I am not familiar as to how to update the wikipedia page correctly and I don't want to seem partial to the information listed. Could you help make sure all the info is accurate? is there a way to hire someone to do that? for example the home jersey is white and yellow stripes (not black and white like Juventus) the away jersey is navy blue (correct but listed as home).

I would appreciate to communicate further regarding this matter should you be available to do so.

Thanking you in advance.
