Probably not the best decision to draw attention to an editor who's already down. --NeilN talk to me 01:16, 1 April 2015 (UTC)

@NeilN: That... is true... Sadly it was the only page I managed to grab a screen of before it was fixed... EoRdE6(Come Talk to Me!) 01:17, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
Maybe remove it? --NeilN talk to me 01:28, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
NeilN It serves a needed purpose of showing what happened there. I have one of further down the page, but looking over at this users latest TP I feel as though that would not be appreciated either... It serves it purpose to show what happened, but maybe an extensive blurring session would fix it up... Sadly I don't have the tools or ability to do that. I removed the BLP-as its not a BLP but a fictional character-I do have to admit it seems like it is completely original research. Maybe a AFD if needed? Wgolf (talk) 19:54, 6 April 2015 (UTC)

Wgolf point taken, not really a living person. However it should be reviewed, has it is mostly original research if not entirely. EoRdE6(Come Talk to Me!) 21:22, 6 April 2015 (UTC)

Orphaning of Template:Maintained

A warning template for you ...

Ouch! You've used a template to send a message to an experienced editor. Please review Wikipedia:Don't template the regulars or maybe listen to a little advice. Doesn't this feel cold, impersonal, and canned? It's meant in good humour. Best wishes. Daniel Case (talk) 04:52, 7 April 2015 (UTC)

Daniel Case (talk) 04:52, 7 April 2015 (UTC)

@Daniel Case: Not to be rude, but I don't give A flying fuck about templating you or your essay. Regulars know much better than to blatently WP:CANVAS a discussion and deserve a stern warning template. EoRdE6(Come Talk to Me!) 04:55, 7 April 2015 (UTC)
"Not to be rude" ... and then you use blata'nt profanity (And it's not even my essay ... it's been around for ages). Seems in keeping with "I want to delete this template, or maybe it only needs to have its wording changed, so I'll nominate it for deletion."

As for the canvassing, I assumed that since you had been staying on top of things on Wilnklevi's page and Jc's, that you would be actively rallying the troops to Jc's page (of course, since you got the result you wanted, why would you?). OK, if this is how you want it, I'll notify some of the delete !voters. Daniel Case (talk) 05:03, 7 April 2015 (UTC)

I'm asking (without my admin hat on, but just as a fellow wikipedian), both of you please stop.
I'd point to WP:TEA, but I presume you both know about it.
If there's a concern about canvassing (and I'll admit I'm not sure what yet to make of what I see at Special:Contributions/Daniel_Case, then I think, now that it's been expressed and answered, then ask for a WP:3PO, such as at WP:AN, or if you think appropriate WP:AN/I.
But let's not attack each other, please. - jc37 05:13, 7 April 2015 (UTC)
I'm OK with dropping it as I see there's no chance of resolving the matter this way. And it's late. Daniel Case (talk) 05:14, 7 April 2015 (UTC)

The reason I declined your speedy was that is is (apparently) an 'educational establishment'. Educational establishments are excluded from A7, but are not very well defined. School and uni - yes, mostly clear cut (but there are degree mills - which may make it on notoriety instead of fame), but how about a School of Beauty? Peridon (talk) 10:21, 7 April 2015 (UTC)

Apple watch

On the apple watch page, you made some edits to what I wrote, and claimed that there was a slight amount of bias in the text. Since someone will probably revert it to your version again if I rewrote some of the original text, I will just ask you what i can write. When I wrote that it was superior to its competitors, I used several trusted websites as sources, and they all seem to agree. Would it be OK to use this word again? It honestly does seem to be leading the smart watch market...

And regarding the "noting failure to give as much potential functionality as similar smartwatches" (this is the current version) statement, I was referring to how the apple watch failed to live up to the standard of the various phones available, especially in terms of functionality. I just couldn't come up with a better way to phrase it (tired as hell). I just felt the need to say that in case of any future misunderstandings.

P.s. I am in no way in favour of Apple when it comes to the ongoing feud between the tech giants; I am merely intrigued in the subject and namely Apple's side — Preceding unsigned comment added by PotatoNinja123 (talkcontribs) 15:13, 9 April 2015 (UTC)

@PotatoNinja123: You edit was well sourced, and that was good. However some words (WP:weasel words) can make statements appear biased. For example "superiority" and "highly praising" because I see nether when I read the sources. There also was some minor orignal research, when you referenced Android Wear, which I remind you isn't a device. I'm also going to ping @ViperSnake151: as it seems he has removed your addition from Galaxy S6, even after I cleaned up for similar problems to this. Makes sense. But vipersnake said on the s6 page that the incident wasn't notable. Should I add a reference?

Thanks for the advice though. — Preceding unsigned comment added by PotatoNinja123 (talkcontribs) 15:35, 9 April 2015 (UTC)

Yeah, it wasn't notable. Breaking when you subject it to unusual amounts of pressure is a common trait of all products. The only reason it was notable for the iPhone 6 was because of the ease of the occurrence, and how it became a cultural phenomenon. ViperSnake151  Talk  15:40, 9 April 2015 (UTC)

I am really confused right now. It appears that the page has been reverted to the original version, and I can't find the edit in the page's history that does so. I doubt it was you... But should revert it back to the new revision?

So much chaos with all those unregistered users as well; glad it was resolved. — Preceding unsigned comment added by PotatoNinja123 (talkcontribs) 16:34, 9 April 2015 (UTC)

I have unreviewed a page you curated

Hi, I'm 1Potato2Potato3Potato4. I wanted to let you know that I saw the page you reviewed, Rikul, and have un-reviewed it again. If you have any questions, please ask them on my talk page. Thank you. 1Potato2Potato3Potato4 (talk) 07:48, 17 April 2015 (UTC)

@1Potato2Potato3Potato4: Yep I have a question. Why? EoRdE6(Come Talk to Me!) 07:52, 17 April 2015 (UTC)
I saw the Speedy had been removed. I tagged it as unreviewed initially due to the poor quality of the article which I thought had been marked as reviewed hastily, before seeing that you had added a CSD which was removed. Sorry for the above, I had no idea it was sent and I only unreviewed it as it needed something doing. I just reported the remover as a likely sock. Thanks, 1Potato2Potato3Potato4 (talk) 07:55, 17 April 2015 (UTC)

GA nom of Universe

Hi, I see you've nominated this article for GA. You don't seem to have edited it at all; have you discussed the nomination with current editors? If there are any questions at the GA review (there usually are), someone with knowledge of the article's many sources will have to answer them, and promptly, or the reviewer's time will be wasted. How do you plan to handle the review? Chiswick Chap (talk) 08:13, 19 April 2015 (UTC)

Hi @Chiswick Chap: I nominated it without much background knowledge for a few reasons. Primarily, on my review of the past GAN and GAR I found that all of the past complaints had been corrected, and when I personally checked the article against the GA criteria, I found no obvious issues that will require deep knowledge of the subject. While I expect it to more or less breeze through the GAN, I will of course do my best to answer any issues and will ask the other maintainers for assistance too. Thanks! EoRdE6(Come Talk to Me!) 22:53, 19 April 2015 (UTC)
Gosh. Well, then you know the score. The GAN instructions do strongly suggest that uninvolved nominators consult first, as a courtesy if nothing else. I'm glad you are going ahead with your eyes open. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 06:16, 20 April 2015 (UTC)

Message from Zozoulia

Thanks for replying to me in the Tearoom. Regarding the article currently headlined Tzuriel Rafael:

The BBC is incorrect. Google both versions. "Tsuriel Raphael" yields 3,890 unique links but Tzuriel Rafael yields only 399. He himself spelled it Tsuriel Raphael in an article he wrote for the Los Angeles Times in 1991. See http://articles.latimes.com/1991-06-25/local/me-1145_1_settlements-territories-arab-countries

The U.S. State Department spelled it TSURIEL RAPHAEL when he was stationed there. See https://books.google.co.il/books?id=KLAXc2H09qEC&pg=PA33&lpg=PA33&dq=%22Tsuriel+Raphael%22&source=bl&ots=fvf4PMXNy8&sig=t9iLp_lutJL6M1J5Qwlw3aF0RZg&hl=en&sa=X&ei=hB41VavEB8ToaPPKgOgF&ved=0CEMQ6AEwCTgK#v=onepage&q=%22Tsuriel%20Raphael%22&f=false

Finally, I have his business card. It's TSURIEL RAPHAEL. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zozoulia (talkcontribs) 18:35, 4 June 2024 UTC [refresh] (talk) 15:46, 20 April 2015 (UTC)

Colour nom

I saw where you said you corrected your nomination. Since there hasn't been any voting that counts, and no one has shown any interest in 4A or 4B anyway, I don't see any reason to keep them if they didn't need to be there in the first place. Would you mind if I removed 4A and 4B then? ―Mandruss  21:03, 19 April 2015 (UTC)

@Mandruss: 4B can go, no one liked that, but ATinySliver expressed possible interest in 4A so we should leave it. I'm glad you took control of the discussion, it was spiralling into a random mess of colours and comments. Personally I like 7C right now, something nice about that match... EoRdE6(Come Talk to Me!) 22:48, 19 April 2015 (UTC)
Ok, we'll keep 4A then. The table's paradigm would dictate moving 4C to 11C and listing both colors in the second column, as in 7C. I'm not sure anyone other than me cares that much about the table's paradigm or gets much benefit from preserving it, however.
I'm glad you're glad I took control, since I wasn't sure how people would feel about that. So many people seem to prefer chaos and confuse structure with bureaucracy or a loss of freedom. And some people see wp:ownership in something like that.
I actually got that color combination from the color picker that I used. I guess those colors are like mathematically complementary or something. Interesting that it evoked "something nice about that match" from you. Here's #F9C557 with its complement per that color picker:  1   You have new messages  or  1   You have new messages  The blue looks darker under black text (counterintuitively), but it's the same blue, #578BF9. ―Mandruss  08:55, 20 April 2015 (UTC)
It seems those are Complementary colors. ―Mandruss  11:42, 21 April 2015 (UTC)

Tzuriel Refael

You put a speedy tag on this so that the article could be moved to this spelling. In fact, I have moved it to Tsuriel Raphael following a request at WP:AN#Mis-spelled name which said that is "how the person himself spells his name." That's not a Reliable Source, of course, but this appears to be his own Facebook page, which backs it up (and incidentally, shows that the name is a Hebraicisation of "Cyril", which I hadn't guessed).

I'm surprised there is no better standardisation of Hebrew to English transliteration: one can find both versions, and several others, in respected sources - the BBC has yours, the Guardian and the Melbourne Age have mine. If you don't agree, I suggest a Requested Move on the article talk page.

(Note - I wrote this offline and copied it here before seeing the note above). Regards, JohnCD (talk) 20:57, 21 April 2015 (UTC)

@JohnCD: that's fine, as long as we follow a common name and have the misspellings redirect there I'm not too bothered. Thanks for sorting it out. EoRdE6(Come Talk to Me!) 21:17, 21 April 2015 (UTC)

Noted.

I may have made a friend from here User:MasterMind5991 but I didn't spam him here. I have made over 2,000 edits here. (Most to my User page and User talk) however I have created many userboxes and Although I've been involved in Edit Wars, I have not been blocked once. In fact. I deleted his spam. Which normally contravenes my own editing rules but that was extremely ridiculous. In fact he found me because I messaged User:Canuckian89 to say thanks for his edit. I think an ANI is an order, I searched Dfrr here and there were 390 edits to user talk pages with the same kind of spam! I have not seen the level of spam that Dfrr has contributed from any other editor. TheGRVOfLightning (talk) 04:33, 22 April 2015 (UTC)

I semi-agree and find that DawnDusk (thread above) does too. No point in having a go at their userpage though, you can start an AN/I thread if you wish, though I recommend for such a complex thing you draft it in your userspace, hunt down useful diffs and logs and then post it. EoRdE6(Come Talk to Me!) 03:01, 23 April 2015 (UTC)

Wow.

Regarding Userpage Edit

I was removing it as it was blatant misuse of Wikipedia as a webhost. TheGRVOfLightning (talk) 03:03, 23 April 2015 (UTC)

@TheGRVOfLightning: Keyword blatant. It doesn't fall under WP:UPNO, and yet it doesn't fall under WP:UPYES either and is right in the middle. While I'm not calling it a good idea, lots of users think it fun to have elaborate and random userpages, and it is a good place to learn the intricacies of wiki syntax. The way I see it, it's doing no harm being there so there is no point in removing it, all that will do is cause disputes and claims of harassment. No harm, no point in removing. If it was a resume or advertising, sure take it down, but other than blatant obvious stuff, I suggest just leaving it alone. Maybe time to work on that AN/I thread, you could mention this in there. AFD reverts

Hi EoRdE6, Umm I'm not sure if you know but the tool had dragged me to ANI [1] over a closure I withdrew (and surprise surprise the mob joined in!) so it's probably not a good idea to war with him over another closure,
Don't get me wrong you can revert to your heart's content but I'd rather not see you blocked or whatever, I only wasn't blocked as I apparently "learned my mistake" ..... ,
Anyway thanks and Happy editing. –Davey2010Talk 17:15, 28 April 2015 (UTC)

@Davey2010: Thanks for telling me about that, I hadn't seen that thread... Thank you

... for withdrawing and closing your nomination of the Turkish film Çanakkale 1915. I politely suggest and encourage that you might in the future be a just a bit more proactive in your WP:BEFORE and understand that non-English sources are perfectly fine for non-English topics... and for even a non-sourced stub article, topic notability is not based upon how an article is written or sourced but through how that topic is covered outside of Wikipedia. I appreciate you acknowledging that the article was improved, as fixing up things sent erroneously to AFD is what I do. Again, thank you and be well. Schmidt, Michael Q. 02:28, 29 April 2015 (UTC)
