Notice of edit warring noticeboard discussion[edit]

Information icon Hello. The thread is Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring#User:Davecain2 reported by User:Zefr (Result: ). Thank you. Zefr (talk) 17:30, 20 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A proper Wikipedia description of Functional Medicine should be true and non-bias for patients looking for this type of care. The current page is a hugely one-sided “rant” against functional medicine made by one man, David Gorski, who has a website dedicated to the bashing of non-mainstream medicine. This should not be the number one hit on Google when a patient is looking for a functional medicine doctor in they’re area. Functional medicine has saved so many lives nationwide. People deserve an accurate description. Davecain2 (talk) 17:38, 20 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I was making valid edits to the “functional medicine” article. The current article is one sides propaganda against Functional Medical and was written by David Gorski. This is the 1st web hit patients see when they search for a Functional MD in their area. Functional Medicine is a wonderful form of healthcare that deserves a proper description. Nothing posted was against copyright violation. I was blocked almost instantly by the user Bbb23 while making these edits. How does a user get blocked from Wikipedia this quickly?(about 30 seconds after posting). It was obvious that the person blocking me wasn’t reading the new information for the article. Davecain2 (talk) 18:32, 20 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You posted a copyright violation and edit warred to keep it and other content you posted there. Furthermore, the information you want to add seems to be blatant promotion. Since you don't think you did anything wrong at all, there are no grounds to lift the block, and I must decline your request. 331dot (talk) 19:11, 20 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This is obviously an unfair bureaucracy and I have written a formal letter about the matter and mailed it to:

All admin usernames involved have been noted.

Great. This doesn't address the reason for your block, as explained by Jpgordon below. Nor does it address the numerous other problems. Yamla (talk) 00:37, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Issues with Functional Medicine wiki page[edit]

There should be a proper description of Functional Medicine on Wikipedia.

The current wiki page is an article written by David Gorski, someone who is against functional medicine, using his own website for all his references. This is not what patients should see when searching for a functional medicine doctor and a proper description of the practice. This type of healthcare has saved and improved lives in cities across America.

Functional medicine is just as important as any other medical field and deserves a real article on Wikipedia. Davecain2 (talk) 18:12, 20 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Davecain2, there is. You just don't like it. Weird how often people who have a vested interest in quackery dislike the way (who have no vested interest either way) we describe it. Guy (help!) 08:34, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I’m just a patient of 2 years. My Functional MD here in Nashville has turned my health around in an incredible way, using modern western medicine, methods from Ayurveda, methods from Chinese medicine and Japanese cooking(All this is Functional Med). Others should benefit the way I have, because people are amazing and everyone deserves to thrive. I see that you are old and out of touch by using the term “Quackery”. The world is changing my friend, just go pick up a February 2020 Time magazine, and your small minded, angry description of healthcare outside your tiny world view won’t stop it. This current write up of functional medicine is opinionated and not fact…. At least I found out how close minded and out of touch this wiki community is.
