Hi Carlojoseph14. I fixed an edit that you made on the article List of Cultural Properties of the Philippines in CALABARZON. I think you accidentally pasted a format header and didn't see it (see here). No worries, thought. I took it off for you and saved your other changes. Just sending an FYI. ~Oshwah~ (talk) (contribs) 10:49, 25 August 2014 (UTC)

Churches

Hi, thanks for your good work on Philippine churches. One thing though, to improve navigation of topics by province, can you add a landmarks section to templates like Template:Cavite and add your churches and other buildings of note and link the template Cavite with {{ }} around it at the bottom of your church articles. Obviously if there's dozens of churches then only link the most notable or create a Template:Churches in Cavite sort of thing but it would be great if you could do this. The general provincial templates are intended to be more than just settlements.♦ Dr. Blofeld 16:54, 11 September 2014 (UTC)

I am thinking of creating a new template since (personally) templates like Template:Cavite must be for its cities and municipalities/ jurisdictions/ government-related. The new template will be based on: Roman Catholic churches in Cavite and another one on Roman Catholic churches in Laguna (province), and later expand it to all churches by province. Another option is by diocese/archdiocese.--Carlojoseph14 (talk) 17:47, 11 September 2014 (UTC)
Dr. Blofeld, created Template:Roman Catholic churches in Laguna. --Carlojoseph14 (talk) 11:29, 17 September 2014 (UTC)
Nice, the intention I gather is to blue those unlinked entries?♦ Dr. Blofeld 11:52, 17 September 2014 (UTC)
As of now, what is linked from the template is the churches that have wiki articles. The template does not have all the Roman Catholic churches in Laguna as there are too many churches based on the list available at the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Pablo. I only include notable churches in the template. --Carlojoseph14 (talk) 12:08, 17 September 2014 (UTC)

DYK for Kawayan Torogan

HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 12:03, 12 September 2014 (UTC)

Carlojoseph14, your article on Nuestra Señora de los Angeles Parish Church (Santa Maria) was nominated by Shhhhwwww!!, but the article as it stands is too short for DYK. If you are interested in expanding it—it needs to be at least 400 prose characters longer, I believe—then please let us know there right away, so it isn't closed. Otherwise, it will likely be closed very soon, since Shhhhwwww!! has not responded to notifications that nominated articles have issues such as this one does.

I hope we hear from you very soon one way or the other. Thank you very much, and I hope this hasn't caused you any inconvenience. BlueMoonset (talk) 00:07, 13 September 2014 (UTC)

This article could probably use a similar boost, including the generic content you added to Kawayan Torogan. Cheers. 7&6=thirteen () 13:32, 15 September 2014 (UTC)

Punta Cruz Watchtower hook

Yes, I know that you submitted an image, but I was desperately trying to find a "quirky" hook to end off the prep set that I was working on, and I couldn't find any except yours. Yoninah. It is OK for me. No problem. I am just asking. :) Hoping to really have a wider readership for articles like these which I am working under the Wikimedia Philippines nationwide cultural heritage mapping project And besides, I think that readers will really look for a picture to verify the hook. --Carlojoseph14 (talk) 09:16, 22 September 2014 (UTC)

Hi, I came across this nomination while building prep sets, and made some additional notes on close paraphrasing and citation issues. Now that everything's cleared up, I realize that (a) the nomination was never fully reviewed according to the DYK criteria, and (b) the nominator has 5 DYK nominations and therefore needs to do a QPQ. You approved the nomination even though these basic checks were missing. Just a reminder for next time :) Yoninah (talk) 21:07, 5 October 2014 (UTC)

3RR you asked for

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Loboc Church. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.
You continue to flout {{WP:CAPITALS}}{{WP:EDITORIALISE}}{{WP:OVERLINK}} as well as showing ignorance of basic rules of spelling and grammar. Geographical coordinates are more easily understood by readers when in dms format; decimal degrees is only for GPS boxes. Categories by city

Hi Carlojoseph. Just a reminder that we normally do not create categories if we foresee that the category will not contain more than one or two articles as in the different Roman Catholic churches in <Metro Manila city> you created. There has to be at least four or five that could be created per each category to justify their creation and usefulness. I dont think cities like Las Piñas for example can have any more notable church than the Bamboo Organ Church it has. That's why we normally categorize them per province and not per city, in the case of Metro Manila, a regional category.--RioHondo (talk) 12:37, 20 October 2014 (UTC)

Ooops, noted. I saw a separate category for Manila City and I though it would be okay to create their own categories so that when the time comes that new articles will be created, they could be categorized specifically. Thanks. --Carlojoseph14 (talk) 12:44, 20 October 2014 (UTC)
There's usually only one notable church per city or municipality in the Philippines, the oldest one usually. New parishes are at risk for AfD. Let's focus on building noteworthy articles on noteworthy structures. Let's not further divide the provincial churches per town. Thanks. P.S. There really is only the Bamboo Organ Church in Las Piñas, and the Cathedral of St. Paul the Hermit in San Pablo, Laguna.--12:51, 20 October 2014 (UTC)
Yes, I am not really going to divide into municipalities for provinces. I did not understand the last line. What's with the San Pablo Cathedral (St. Paul the Hermit in San Pablo)? --Carlojoseph14 (talk) 13:07, 20 October 2014 (UTC)
Thanks. I meant there is only the San Pablo Cathedral you can write about in that city so a Category:Roman Catholic churches in San Pablo, Laguna will not be necessary anymore, just like the Las Piñas example. Good job on all the other church articles though. I hope your group can also start on Spanish fortifications next: the fortresses in Taytay (Palawan), Ozamiz, Cuyo, Capul, Romblon, Dauis, Iloilo and Gumaca for example. As for the other churches in the WHS proposed list, you've completed all but four. Well done man. Cheers--RioHondo (talk) 13:44, 20 October 2014 (UTC)
Okay! Got it. Thanks for your constructive criticisms! :) I'm interested in completing all structures on the NCTs and WHS Tentative List. I'll personally add unto my list your recommendations. Right now, working on Bohol churches (and other heritage structures) since I have a good book for it. Thanks for supporting the group! And hopefully we could discuss the properly differentiate the classifications based on RA 10066 before the end of the project. --Carlojoseph14 (talk) 14:06, 20 October 2014 (UTC)
