Assessment

Hi, article assessment is actually a Wikipedia-wide policy. We don't get to decide what articles are going to be featured articles, for example, and that's the the #1 article class you can have. If all the other projects rated the Men With Brooms article as a B-class article, then it is a B-class article, unless for some reason the article has depreciated since it was last rated. Article class rates the quality of the article, and a specific Wiki project cannot define article quality. We do get to define how important articles are. You'll note how I didn't revert your demotion of the article to low importance. -- Earl Andrew - talk 22:42, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

Alright, well... that's your judgement I guess. I'm not going to dispute this, I want to keep things civil. We should be focusing on expanding our articles instead of debating what to class articles. -- Earl Andrew - talk 01:03, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
Fine, we'll do it your way. It's not that big of a deal. -- Earl Andrew - talk 15:37, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

WikiProject Professional wrestling newsletter message

It has recently been brought to the attention of WP:PW that the newsletter is being to delivered to several users who have not been actively editing for several months. As a result, their talk pages have become increasingly large, unmanageable and slow to load due to a lack of archiving.
In response, this message is being sent to all editors listed in Category:WikiProject Professional wrestling participants to say that anyone who does not list their name at Wikipedia:WikiProject Professional wrestling/Newsletter/Active before May 16 will be automatically listed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Professional wrestling/Newsletter/Nospam, and will no longer receive the newsletter or any notification of it. If you are added to Wikipedia:WikiProject Professional wrestling/Newsletter/Nospam, please feel free to remove your name if you desire.
If you wish to continue receiving the newsletter as normal, please add your name to Wikipedia:WikiProject Professional wrestling/Newsletter/Active. If you simply wish to receive notification of a new issue, but not have the full newsletter delivered to your talk page, please add your name to the notification only list.
If you have any queries please contact me at my talk page or leave a message at WT:PW. Thank you for your co-operation. ♥NiciVampireHeart♥ 00:36, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

FLC review urgent

Hi! Since you are familiar with reviewing Lists of National Treasures of Japan, I thought you could help out with the following... List of National Treasures of Japan (archaeological materials) is presently a featured list candidate and marked as Nominations urgently needing reviews which means that it is in danger of failing the nomination due to a lack of reviews. I'd be happy, if you could have a look at the list and leave comments, questions or suggestions at the nomination page. The criteria to be checked against are found here. Thanks. bamse (talk) 14:24, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 02:22, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

All Star Wrestling

Hello

I've reverted your modification to the layout of the list of champions as the old layout made more sense.

Two sections - one of current titles active in ASW, the other of titles that are defunct/dormant or moved to other promotions. The second category subdivided into Mountevans and non-Mountevans titles.

Three of the four titles currently active in All Star were called for under the 1947 Mountevans Rules (and the fourth has old school roots inasmuch as it traces back to the immediate aftermath of the ITV era), therefore the Mountevans section is not meant as a complete list of Mountevans titles or even Mountevans titles in All Star, but just of the defunct ones. the active Mountevans titles go in the Current secton

It is not inconcievable that All Star may add the odd non Mountevans title or two in the future (there have been a couple in recent years) and these will go into the current titles section alongside Mountevans and non-Mountevans titles (the Current Titles section does not differentiate due to insufficent number of active ASW-based titles.)

Grouped the way you propose, we could end up with people coming along and inputting duplicate entries for those active titles with Mountevans roots, which would result in confusion. And that would not do.

Kind Regards

2010 US Open

Please note that a category has to actually exist before you're allowed to add it to articles. Category:2010 US Open (tennis) does not, as you can tell by the fact that it's a redlink, so it can't be on articles (or replace the uncategorized template) until somebody actually creates it properly. Thanks. Bearcat (talk) 22:34, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

Categories are, first and foremost, a system to help people find articles. But if an article is in a category that doesn't exist — especially if that's the article's only category — then the article can't be found through that method. Look at it this way: if you were running a library, would you keep actively circulating books in a locked storeroom which your clientele couldn't access and didn't even know about, and then still expect them to be able to find and sign out those books without difficulty? No, you wouldn't — if a book is meant to circulate, then it has to be out on display on an active, publicly accessible shelf or rack, and if you're hiding it in a secret storeroom that means you're taking it out of circulation. FLC National Treasures of Japan swords

Hi! Since you already reviewed a List of National Treasures of Japan, I thought you could help out with the following. List of National Treasures of Japan (crafts: swords) is currently a featured list candidate and listed as Nominations urgently needing reviews which means that it might fail unless somebody (you ;-) ) reviews the list. So far it received two "support" votes and one "oppose". All issues raised in the oppose vote have been addressed (the reviewer, "The Rambling Man", just needs to revisit the page). I'd be happy if you could take the time to review the list and leave comments, questions, suggestions and a vote ("support" or "oppose") on the nomination page. Thanks. bamse (talk) 09:44, 19 September 2010 (UTC)
