My name, "emergent order", is a reference to the emergence phenomenon: how systems of individual entities may spontaneously interact to produce order.
My technical background is Electrical & Computer Engineering, Music, and I love Open Source Hardware & Software.
When a math variable, for example "", appears in regular paragraph text in addition to appearing inside a latex-formatted math block, I believe those variable names should be formatted with latex formatting so that the variable name looks identical in both places. Without formatting, a variable "x" appears inconsistently to the same "" in the math block. And when those math variables are used in pictures, I believe those pictures should render the names using the same latex formatting, so readers can easily match identifiers used in the pictures with the equations.
And also particularly when using the same math equation across wikipedia pages, I believe that variable names and formatting should match as closely as possible, to facilitate readers switching between pages.
