The colors chosen in the tables are really confusing things, especially since the colors nearly match the Denver/Indy/New England colors but Brady has Manning's light blue, etc. I'd change them if I could. Suggestions: Light blue - Manning regular season win, darker blue - Manning playoff win Light red - Brady regular season win, darker red (not as dark as what's used now) - Brady playoff win NjtoTX (talk) 13:52, 7 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have to agree. It's bad enough to get me to log in and make my first edit in years. Billz8 (talk) 00:55, 18 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Persona section.[edit]

I'm just reading that and it feels that it doesn't have a place in a page like this. Like, Manning known for working hard, Brady known for just winning? When watching these matchups they always point out the similarities in work ethic between the two. Aqib Talib was interviewed before the 16th match in 2014 and he pointed out Brady works hard just like Manning. So using the work ethic in Manning's advantage by not Brady's?

I feel it's A) Wrong and B) Disrespectful to Brady.

ps, I'm a Falcons fan, not a Patriots fan. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 1.123.77.104 (talk) 09:52, 6 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Is this an actual "rivalry"?[edit]

What makes this a sport rivalry? Yes, Brady and Manning have met in competition several times over the course of the respective careers, and this article details the record of those meetings in exquisite (one might say excruciating) detail, but a rivalry goes beyond a mere record of competitions. A rivalry involves an indication that the players' fans have certain expectations of their encounters, but this article mentions none of that. Given the manner in which this article is written, I could pick any two quarterbacks at random and generate a "rivalry" between them by simply noting the record of their competitions. A sports rivalry needs more. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 16:17, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If you look at WP:NRIVALRY it basically says to see WP:GNG. I would believe the massive coverage around whenever these two meet fulfills the GNG requirements. You could say the same thing about any sports rivalry. Couldn't you go just into as much detail about the Yankees vs Blue Jays or the O's, as you could with Yankees–Red Sox rivalry. Sure you could, but the press coverage is the important thing. Whenever these two would face each other, every news organization covered it, and it would make cover of SI. Thats what makes it notable. - GalatzTalk 16:50, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Galatz: I'm not saying that the rivalry isn't notable. I'm saying that the article actually says nothing about the "rivalry". There is ample press coverage for this rivalry, so the Wikipedia article should go beyond mere statistics and indicate why this particular pairing is an actual rivalry. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 17:18, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Galatz: Perhaps to illustrate my point: the New York Yankees play the Baltimore Orioles several times each year, and have done so for many years (both teams being in the AL East). But no one talks about a Yankees-Orioles rivalry, only a Yankees-Red Sox rivalry, even though the Yankees and the Red Sox do not meet any more frequently than the Yankees and the Orioles. So, there is more to a rivalry than just an amount of competitions between the two rivals, but this article does not spell out why Manning and Brady are said to be rivals. I think I better understand your point now. Its not that you are questioning its notability, you are saying the article needs a background section, basically. Rather than just who they are and their stats, it needs more details about them in general, like "Both players are often regarded as two of the greatest of their time...blah blah blah...national coverage...blah blah blah" - GalatzTalk 19:23, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Galatz: Exactly! WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 19:36, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Then I agree, it needs more expansion on what makes it notable. - GalatzTalk 19:57, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Well, not quite. The notability is well established by the sources. It needs expansion as to where the actual rivalry lies. Have these two ever expressed animosity toward each other? Or even jealousy? What has the press said about one vs. the other? WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 20:02, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

So ?[edit]

As somebody who is only just a little bit interested in football (though enough to enjoy a good game) ... what am I to take away from this ? What I'm missing is interpretation ... I'm sure some are saying Brady is the greatest others are saying P.Manning is the greatest. So there should be different ways to compare the two which would lead to different points of view. It would be great if somebody would be able to fill that in from a neutral perspective and others to be able to accept it and find a way to live with reality ;-) ... Looking at the provided data I really struggle to see anything except who won more SuperBowls ... JB. --92.195.29.182 (talk) 18:51, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Missing references[edit]

Hi, I just noticed that the refences section in the article is missing. Is there a reason why? 2001:569:78BA:4A00:30F4:86BC:759:3295 (talk) 00:48, 27 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
