Image:Roxy 10.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. From the UJL Archives[edit]
An UmJammer Lammy concert, consisting of the actual band (in human, of course) was held here in 1999. Even on the old MilkCan website (or the UJL Website on Playstation.com), it had a link you can click on that would be about the details about performing at the Roxy NYC.
I do wish it was held over at the Roxy Theater in Hollywood, where Frank Zappa performed the bulk of the Roxy and Elsewhere album in 1974.

Roxy NYC vs The Roxy[edit]
the earliest published reference to this club as "Roxy NYC" is 2001, as far as i can tell. it was always known in the press and in conversation as "The Roxy" back in the day. this "Roxy NYC" thing rings like a lead bell clapper. in other words, whoever wrote this is giving the younger generations the impression that it was mainly called Roxy NYC (sounds like a slick name huh? like a marketing person named it) when it was always known as "The Roxy" (sort of classic and eternal, huh?). thanks for reading. cheers. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.250.176.112 (talk) 09:08, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
In the begging as told by Richard Newhouse[edit]
Being that I appear to be the only remaining partner I am taking this opportunity to thank all those who helped me create my dream. Upon my return to NYC (my home), from a multi year walkabout, my good friend Patricia Underwood (ne Moynihan) said "Hey Mr. New how about we go roller skating?". Village Skates, in the West Village of NYC, was where I was reacquainted with what was to become a lifelong love of skating. I feel deeply grateful that I have found something that allows me to dance (on skates) to my favorite music sometimes as many as 4x per week and has endured for over 40 years. I had such a good time that in my naivete I said "I want my own rink". Curiously I just heard a similar story about the origins of reputedly the largest rink in the world - Guptill's Arena in Latham, NY.
