Comments[edit]

Below is some New York-specific material I removed because it's a bit hard to work it into an article about both New York and London TKTS booths. I'm also wondering whether this article should capitalize it TKTS, as the New York TDF uses, or tkts, as the signs on the booths say. Either way, it should probably be moved. (And yes, I have been to both cities' booths.) Beinsane 23:11, 10 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Cash or travelers checks are the only accepted form of payment. The reason the booth looks so flimsy is that it was originally intended to be a temporary trailer - there was a major design competition a few years back, and a new midtown booth will be built sometime in the next few years.

Caption[edit]

In comparing edits of the caption for the red steps I see you took out information which I wanted to know, Ssilver, saying it was unneccessary. I was interested to know why the steps were roped off in the photo, so I am returning a note about the reason.Manray00 (talk) 18:28, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The booth was roped off the help with crowd control when the line begins to form. This photo must have been taken early in the morning before people begin to line up. 15:44, 2 June 2009 (UTC)Robertgore (talk)

Bleachers?[edit]

why does a ticket booth have SEATS? are the lines soooooo massive that hundreds of ppl have to queue up for hours? or are the "shows" in question OUTDOOR versions of what's normally happening in the theatres? is THIS why the tickets are cheap -- b/c they are minor shows, being done as street theatre? GMA, kimmel, etc have similar shows, but i thought they were free.

or....were the bleachers some sort of plaza renovation totally unrelated to this ticket vendor? at most, did the booth SPONSOR it as a PR move? if so, why were planners caught off guard by the expense of it all? article makes it sound like the SURPRISE POPULARITY of the the booth rendered the design insufficient. which i doubt is the intended meaning.

can someone in the know pls reword? 66.30.47.138 (talk) 04:45, 8 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
