Contested deletion[edit]

This page should not be speedy deleted as an attack page or a negative unsourced biography of a living person, because... I'm not sure how this is an attack page? It is an article on a school called Spring Ridge Academy that has existed for several years and has been featured in several news sources, making it notable. There also appears to be an editor who has a conflict in that the editor's name @kendranewday is the same name as the new owner of Spring Ridge Academy. Her name is Kendra Allen, she acquired Spring Ridge Academy, and is in the process of renaming it New Day Academy. This is common in the troubled teen industry to rebrand but the program and all facilities were acquired by her and are therefore the same. --Farr4h2004 (talk) 18:44, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It is an attack page because it associates and old business with a new business that has been acquired by a new company. Assuming that just because the business is located in the same place does not mean that it is the same program. Additional material is not yet available because New Day Programs has not yet officially launched. It makes the most sense to stop the redirection of the page from Spring Ridge Academy and have that as a stand alone so that New Day Rising can have it's own page based on it's new programming. Owlfur (talk) 20:27, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It's not an attack page. It states the background of the program very clearly. That New Day Program acquired the program and is now doing business as New Day Rising. On the Spring Ridge Academy website linked below, if you click the Joint Commission image, it goes to the quality report, which used to be in the name of Spring Ridge Academy until a few days ago and is now in the New Day Program name. It is the same accreditation but with a new name. It is clear the names are being changed on the same licenses. I doubt the New Day Program is going to go get all new licenses for the new named business. They are very clearly linked.

Conflict of Interest[edit]

There appears to be some conflict of interest editors on this page, including User:kendranewday. There is a Kendra Allen who has or is in the process of acquiring all facilities and the program from Spring Ridge Academy. If this editor is her, then that is a conflict of interest. The page is not a business marketing site, it is an encyclopedic website for background and information on this school. User:owlfur is also apparently deleting information for no reason. Please discuss on the talk page if there are issues you'd like to discuss.

Deleting information that is not verifiable for New Day Rising. Owlfur (talk) 21:09, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Adding information that is verifiable. [1] [2] Owlfur (talk) 21:10, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You have a conflict if you work for the company, which I reckon you do as you have disclosed inside information . Farr4h2004 (talk) 06:50, 30 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Inappropriate Redirect[edit]

Spring Ridge Academy's page has been redirected to New Day Rising. However, these are different businesses and the history of Spring Ridge Academy and the experiences of those who attended should remain untouched by the editors. Owlfur (talk) 20:30, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, New Day Programs acquired Spring Ridge Academy, including all of its facilities and the program. I understand there may be a new owner and a new name, but rebranding in this industry is common. And seeing that New Day Programs took over the program itself, this appears to be the same business with a new name and a new owner. It's unclear what stake the old owners still have in the program. Also, where did all the students go? Did they leave the campus? Is it empty now? You appear to be related to the program since you have a lot of background information on it so please let us know. Not also that this is a conflict of interest. Wikipedia is not here to market your program. Farr4h2004 (talk) 20:52, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I am not here to market a program, just to create a lack of misinformation. I just fear that assuming one business is the same as another because they have taken over the physical plant. I am examining the various elements already posted. I don't know where the students are or if it is empty. There is just a lack of verifiable evidence for the redirect. Also Piggly Wiggly. Owlfur (talk) 21:09, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. Yes, in this case, it is obvious from the available information that they acquired the program and are also taking over all the licenses. As you can see, SRA has the New Day Rising accreditation posted on its website. Again, this is very common in this industry. I doubt the students just up and all left this week. Is there a source for the claim that New Day Programs have taken over Spring Ridge Academy? It says that it has been announced, but I'm having troubles finding that announcement. - Bilby (talk) 07:32, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have the same question. I reverted the move to New Day Rising. If secondary sources (not OR) connect the two, we should move it back. I'd recommend using a requested move discussion if we do get sources. Firefangledfeathers (talk / contribs) 14:55, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It’s been announced on Reddit and in forums, and more notably, SRA changed the name of their joint commission license to New Day. Their people then came on here and other social media and have been telling people that New Day acquired SRA, it’s facilities, and programs. The official announcement hasn’t come out yet.
