Removed citation?[edit]

Hi, I'm confused about these recent changes, specifically, why someone would remove a citation?

Also, I'm not sure why we're specifying this is a "legitimate" Broadway theatre. Are there illegitimate Broadway theatres? If this is referring to the Broadway vs off Broadway distinction, isn't this officially a theatre club that people buy subscriptions to? Thanks dm 05:46, 26 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The citation was removed in error and has been reverted. As far as the use of the term "legitimate theatre," it can be found in the dictionary - it describes any theatre that presents plays or musicals as opposed to one that shows movies or concerts. For example, the Biltmore is a legitimate theatre but Radio City Music Hall or Avery Fisher Hall aren't. From what I can see, the word appears in most articles about Broadway theatres.

Can something be done to make the image smaller? It really overpowers the article. Thanks. ConoscoTutto 13:22, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks re the reference, I was assuming good faith, and it's always good to see it turn out that way. After my comment, I read up on legitimate theatre, interesting. It seemed to be an older term and about drama/musical versus vaudeville. I'm not sure about the photo, but I'll see what is possible. dm 03:44, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Article meets DYK requirements and I didn't find any close paraphrasing. QPQ still pending. ALT0 and ALT2 are the best hooks (no particular preference here); however a reference needs to be duplicated for ALT0 after the mention of the "across the street" thing. One last question: why do the hooks say "Biltmore Theatre" instead of the theater's current name (and the article title) Samuel J. Friedman Theatre? @Narutolovehinata5: Thanks for the review. I have done a QPQ now and duplicated these refs. For ALT0 and ALT2, the footnotes are now right next to the claims they support. As for why all the hooks use "Biltmore Theatre", it is as you said - that was its name at the time all of these events happened, so it may be anachronistic to use the current name for the condition of the old theater.
