Child?[edit]

Does Rena have a child with Marc Mero? I have just read that she has a Daughter, Mariah with her first husband. Can somone verify this? Thanks [[(MgHoneyBee 23 March 2006 ]] Rena's daughter was Marc's stepdaughter. The Mero marriage did not produce any biological children.24.187.128.89 (talk) 11:35, 12 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Moved "Her Age" section[edit]

Her Age[edit]

The validity of Sable's age has often come into question numerous times over the years, most especially when she made her return to World Wrestling Entertainment in 2003 looking drastically older in comparison to her previous tenure in WWE. Several observers find it hard to believe that Sable is legitimately the age she claims to be as she looks somewhat older facially than the majority of women born in 1967. Most people unaware of her age often presume her to be well into her forties. Several people found it hard to believe that she was legitimately 35 years old when she made her return to WWE in 2003. However, she's been involved in enough legal proceedings in which she had to reveal her birthdate, and she has always listed it as taking place on August 8, 1967.

Also, Sable's age has often been a source of mean-spirited jokes and insults amongst the Internet Wrestling Community. During her second tenure in WWE, the nickname in which she was most often referred to by the IWC was "Grandma Sable." She would often be juxtaposed as an "over the hill stripper" or as someone who would fit in better with the likes of The Fabulous Moolah and Mae Young as opposed to the other WWE Divas. She was labeled by the majority of the IWC as being "past her prime" during her second tenure and that many of current day Divas had passed her by. Some observers even found her to be a bit "too old" for the younger crowd as the majority of the WWE bikini contests in which she participated in took place during house shows - and the majority of the house show attendees are often children - thus making it awkward for some of them to cheer on someone old enough to be their mother. Additionally, her age is often a topic of discussion when her relationship with Brock Lesnar is brought up considering that she is approximately 10 years older than him. She's been frequently teased as being his mother.

The insults regarding her age haven't just been limited to the IWC as two of her fellow colleagues have gone on record as well. On an episode of WWF Livewire in the fall of 1996, Tammy Sytch made a spontaneous shoot comment in which she noted how wrinkled up her face supposedly was. Sable was only 29 years old at the time. Shortly after her return to WWE in April of 2003, Dustin Rhodes made an off-the-cuff remark on WWE Byte This in which he said that she "looked old." Rhodes' sordid comment actually made its way into a print advertisement for Byte This in an issue of Raw Magazine. On the opposite page of the advertisement was an unrelated picture of Sable from a photo shoot.

On the flip side, some people find her sexy, "older woman" vibe to be rather appealing. Stacy Keibler has been quoted as saying that she hopes to look as good Sable does when she is her age. A columnist for Pro Wrestling Illustrated once referred to her as a "hot mom" in a column. Also, Sable has been often referred to by fans as a prime example of a MILF.

That's a bunch of bull! I thought Sable looked better than ever as she aged, most notably her 2003 WWE Return.

This is not a forum, as stated in the charter. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.175.247.128 (talk) 10:34, 27 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Good article nomination[edit]

I nominated this article for good article status. I've worked on it a lot, adding in-text citations and making the prose clear and flowing. It has been fairly stable, considering that Mero has stayed out of the spotlight since exiting World Wrestling Entertainment. --Jtalledo (talk) 19:07, 5 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Her last name[edit]

I'm almost too scared to ask, but her last name was originally Greek - but I'm guessing she isn't, actually, Greek? It's such an odd last name. Mad Jack 08:22, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Or is this not actually her last name? Just a prank? Someone added it today Mad Jack 08:23, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Another name issue: Why is she called Rena Mero in this article when her former husband Marc Mero is called Marc Merowitz in his. Wouldn't that make her Rena Merowitz? Str1977 (smile back) 19:25, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This stuff is really confusing given the nature of names in professional wrestling, but using the "Rena Mero" name seems best for this article, as per WP:MOS#Identity. --Jtalledo (talk) 21:24, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sure the article should be called that way, but what about the first line? Str1977 (smile back) 22:44, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Moves[edit]

I have removed snap suplex from Sables move list. I have seen almost every match she ever competed in and she never used it. She did not receive never training to be able to execute it. It maybe confused with Torrie Wilson who frequently delivers the move. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 199.44.250.83 (talk) 02:32, 21 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

GA Sweeps (on hold)[edit]

This article has been reviewed as part of Wikipedia:WikiProject Good articles/Project quality task force in an effort to ensure all listed Good articles continue to meet the Good article criteria. In reviewing the article, I have found there are some issues that may need to be addressed.

  1. The lead needs to conform to WP:LEAD. Specifically, it must summarize every major point/heading made in the body of the article, which it currently does not do.
Done It now better summarizes the overall article. Nikki311 19:26, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  1. The second paragraph of "Early life" is completely uncited.
 Done Nikki311 03:02, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  1. Image:Renamero.jpg needs a caption to contextualize it; information such as when and where the picture was taken would make for a good caption.
It's always like this for professional wrestling articles, for instance with Trish Stratus; Triple H; Shawn Michaels just to name a few. D.M.N. (talk) 12:33, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Done I added one. If it really was discouraged, then the caption option wouldn't be available on the wrestler infobox template. Nikki311 17:25, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  1. All one-two sentence paragraphs should be either expanded or merged with the surrounding paragraphs, as they break up the prose and disrupt its flow.
 Done Nikki311 03:12, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  1. Sentences should not begin with the word "however".
 Done D.M.N. (talk) 12:31, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  1. "Subsequently, her husband Marc was released from his WWF contract. Rena Mero used her real name for her appearance in the September 1999 issue of Playboy. After her WWF exit, she made an on-camera appearance as an audience member on World Championship Wrestling's WCW Monday Nitro. Her WWF contract's non-compete clause was still legally valid, preventing her from working for WCW -- although she stated that she wanted to." (Post-WWF career (1999-2001)) The controversial bits of this require citations.
Done I sourced most of it and removed what turned out to not be true. The part about her husband was incorrect, as he was injured and then had shoulder surgery, but I didn't find anything about him being released. The part about wanting to work in WCW is also not true, as I read an interview that happened after the incident and Mero said she had no plans to return to wrestling and was only there visiting her friends. Nikki311 00:02, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  1. "Sable had a brief feud with the guest judge Tazz, dumping water on him on the following edition of SmackDown!, as a means of gaining revenge for declaring Wilson the winner." (Return to WWE (2003-2004)) The rationale for this occurrence sounds like original research without a citation. It may seem obvious to some, but it is speculative without a citation.
Done Added a citation from a website that gives pretty detailed episode summaries. Nikki311 19:02, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  1. "During the contest, she was notably "heckled" by play-by-play commentator Michael Cole." (Return to WWE (2003-2004)) Needs a citation at least for the fact that the heckling was notable
Done Personally, I don't think it is all that notable, and I doubt that a reference exists to prove it is indeed notable. I just removed the sentence. Nikki311 02:03, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  1. Note #7 is dead
It's number 8 now. I tried to check the archives of the website, but you have to signup to search them. I'm not sure what to do about this. Should the information be removed? Nikki311 03:02, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't that that should be necessary. There are many suggestions for what to do here. Cheers, CP 23:25, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I looked on the archive website as suggested at the above link, but it wasn't there yet, so I noted the inactive date in the citation. I'm not sure if the article also appeared in print in the Miami Herald...I would assume so, but I don't know for sure, so I'm hesitant to just remove the URL and cite it as a newspaper source. Nikki311 19:02, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If all the above are addressed, I will return to check the references.

I will check back in no less than seven days. If progress is being made and issues are addressed, the article will remain listed as a Good article. Otherwise, it may be delisted (such a decision may be challenged through WP:GAR). If improved after it has been delisted, it may be nominated at WP:GAN. Feel free to drop a message on my talk page if you have any questions, and many thanks for all the hard work that has gone into this article thus far. Cheers, CP 00:17, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just randomly dropping by. The progress thus far looks great! I checked the references and tagged my one concern at the end of the list. Cheers, CP 17:09, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming this Page[edit]

Considering how Rena Mero Lesnar is no longer married to Marc Mero, and has changed her name since her marriage to Brock Lesnar, shouldn't this page be redirected to a page called "Reno Mero Lesnar" instead?70.190.236.138 (talk) 02:58, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sablecarana[edit]

Would anyone know any matches were Sable performs this? Also, was it a normal hurricanrana or one performed from the corner turnbuckle? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.93.162.93 (talk) 15:54, 27 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

She performs it in Edge and Sable vs Marc Mero and Jacqueline. The Sablecanrana is actually a frankensteiner, performed from the corner turnbuckle rather than a hurricanrana. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.114.236.233 (talk) 19:07, 15 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Unnecessary much? I do not see one source on any of those statements that are said. Either find sources for such statements or delete it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 118.210.21.55 (talk) 14:33, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Sable (wrestler)[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Sable (wrestler)'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
