Wikipedia content policy[edit]

1. Articles should contain only material that has been published by reputable sources.
2. Editors adding new material to an article should cite a reputable source, or it may be challenged or removed by any editor.
3. The obligation to provide a reputable source lies with the editors wishing to include the material, not on those seeking to remove it.

Information on Wikipedia must be reliable and verifiable. Facts, viewpoints, theories, and arguments may only be included in articles if they have already been published by reliable and reputable sources. Articles should cite these sources whenever possible. Any unsourced material may be challenged and removed.

The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth. "Verifiable" in this context means that any reader must be able to check that material added to Wikipedia has already been published by a reliable source, because Wikipedia does not publish original thought or original research.

For further information, visit Wikipedia:Verifiability, Wikipedia:No Original Research and Wikipedia:Neutral point of view. Thank you for helping make Wikipedia the most reliable encyclopedia on earth!

Suggestion[edit]

Would it not be interesting to note that Sec Ron Brown and his entourage of business people had spent that day travelling and meeting with local business people from former warring factions in Bosnia? Just a suggestion... Barry MooneyBarrydjr (talk) 19:15, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with File:Pepsi targeted ad 1940s.jpg[edit]

The image File:Pepsi targeted ad 1940s.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --07:05, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ron Brown (U.S. politician)Ron Brown – After searching around for a bit and researching the subject of this article, it truly looks as though this subject is the primary topic for the phrase "Ron Brown". For one, this subject has a consistently high amount of page views versus other "Ron Brown" topics, even though the subject passed away almost 24 years ago. In addition, the subject has an apparently notable award created in their honor, the Ron Brown Award. To me, it looks like the combination of lasting notability after their death, plus notable subtopic which have been created pertaining to the subject of this article which are notable themselves, puts this article as the primary topic for "Ron Brown". • Support - per nom and to get rid of the still-ambiguous disambiguation used - Ron Brown (Wisconsin politician) is also a "(U.S. politician)". -- Netoholic @ 11:55, 27 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support, primary topic. Randy Kryn (talk) 22:29, 27 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. Do not leave a redirect as this disambiguator is non-standard. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 05:25, 30 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Disagree as to the utility of the redirect. Maybe that should be a topic for another time. -- Netoholic @ 08:14, 30 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with Netoholic on this. If there is an issue with the leftover redirect in the event this page is moved, feel free to nominate the redirect at WP:RFD ... where I will place my "keep/retarget" vote since the redirect would be fine as a search term (but redirecting to Ronald Brown as an ambiguous term), just not as the actual title of an article.
