Review will commence soon. QatarStarsLeague (talk) 17:28, 1 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! I'll look forward to it. -- Khazar2 (talk) 17:39, 1 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox & lead[edit]

A pass here.

Background[edit]

I am still bemused as to why aestheticism, "public stiffness", and aloofness would garner the sobriquet "Arias Cardinal Calderon", but even if it does, you need the proper diacritics for Calderón in every mention of the name.

Early political career[edit]

"...the couple spent another month in exile in Miami." When was the first instance?

 Done 1972-80, but I understand how this is unclear. -- Khazar2 (talk) 17:23, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Vice presidency[edit]

This is merely a suggestion, but I suggest you add information about the selection of Calderón, if possible.

I don't have that available, unfortunately. As the article notes, Calderon was president of a party that was a member of an anti-Noriega coalition, so presumably his VP selection helped appeal to that party of the coalition--but I don't have specifics. -- Khazar2 (talk) 17:23, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Later activity[edit]

"...a long-time opponent of the US presence in Panama..." The post-invasion presence, or the in media res-invasion presence? I am sure he was supportive of the invasion.

 Done I'll just say "post-invasion" here for now, which I'm certain he opposed. -- Khazar2 (talk) 17:23, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The rest of this section is fine, along with the last section.

Conclusion[edit]

This is a very sound article. As soon as everything is addressed, the article will pass. Congratulations! QatarStarsLeague (talk) 15:39, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the review & suggestions. Just let me know if you see anything further that needs work. -- Khazar2 (talk) 17:23, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent work! The article passes. QatarStarsLeague (talk) 18:21, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Birth year[edit]

A reader contacted Wikimedia, stating that the birth year is 1933, not 1937. He claims to have been present at his 80th birthday party recently. Obviously, that does not qualify as an RS. I notice that the birth date is sourced to a subscription required source, so I cannot check it myself. Can someone take a look at see if the year is supported by the source?--SPhilbrick(Talk) 21:52, 22 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'm probably the editor who added that. I no longer have access to Highbeam, but I can put in a resource request. -- Khazar2 (talk) 22:11, 22 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Looking into this more, I'm having trouble confirming the date for certain one way or another, but a number of semi-reliable sources do give 4 May 1933. If I wrote "circa" for the other date, it meant the source simply gave an age, which is easy to imagine being erroneous. I've changed it for now--thanks for the tipoff on this one. -- Khazar2 (talk) 00:08, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
