Official website?[edit]

Is it unusual for a national publication to have their official website as a link to a 3rd party for profit subscription site? And quite a lengthy url at that? JayKeaton (talk) 12:17, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That is is infact the official site. The alternative would be the MySpace group.Seanor3 (talk) 21:25, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Serious? They actually print that massive link in the magazine? JayKeaton (talk) 03:15, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Not the exact link, but yes they do. They normally sort all of their long links into a tinyurl.com url Clarkey4boro (talk) 19:33, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Official Playstation magazine uses Tiny URL :O Cor blimey, I might just have to buy an issue just to confirm all this, my head is spinning :S JayKeaton (talk) 17:41, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

80.195.162.226 (talk) 20:36, 10 April 2009 (UTC) It does use tinyurl.com for their links. I've got an issue right in front of me.[reply]

80.195.162.226 (talk) 19:50, 3 May 2009 (UTC) They now use snipurl.com.[reply]

Top 10 Listing[edit]

Under the Desert Island Games subsection I noticed that the ranking for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 is different than what's reported on the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 wikipedia article. According to this article it's ranked 5th but according to the game article it's ranked 7th while citing the same final issue of Official UK Playstation Magazine. I checked the articles of the other games mentioned in this top 10 listing and found other discrepancies.

Here are the rankings of games as reported in this article compared to the rankings mentioned in the games respective main articles. Metal Gear Solid and Tekken 2 didn't mention the ranking and Circuit Breakers has no wikipedia page.

1st - ISS Pro Evolution. Main article: 2nd

3rd - Tomb Raider. Main article: 4th

4th - Gran Turismo 2. Main article: 4th

5th - Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2. Main article: 7th

6th - Resident Evil 2. Main article: 6th

7th - PaRappa the Rapper. Main article: 3rd

8th - Medal of Honor. Main article: 8th

I think if anyone has this issue of the magazine that they pull it out and re-verify these rankings. Either this article is wrong, or many of the game's main articles are wrong. 70.62.118.146 (talk) 16:25, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
