Dynamic DNS API Section[edit]

I feel this sentence doesn't make much sense: "Dynamic DNS a host name such as mysite.no-ip.com is linked up to the user's dynamic IP address." Does anybody know what it means? And from the section name, I'm guessing it was intended to mention No-IP's use of DynDNS's update API? ZeniffMartineau (talk) 07:44, 10 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not "like an ad", this IS an ad[edit]

The Wikipedia page on Dynamic DNS is more than adequate to cover the subject. Is it Wikipedia's policy to display an entire page about every non-notable company that offers an iteration of everything? So that, for example, in addition to a generic page on "Diners" Wikipedia should host a separate page for Joe's Diner, Mary's Diner, the Woffloe Street Diner, and the tens of thousands of other little diners out there? How are those not ads?

This page was probably posted by the company itself or its shill, I would imagine. Even if it wasn't, it's an embarrassment to Wikipedia and should be deleted.

BTW, the web is full of shills, many of them quite obvious. I try to remember all the companies and products that engage in this despicable practice, and boycott them. I think Wikipedia should do the same. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.93.49.191 (talk) 21:29, 12 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Made the page a lot more neutral, and I will be watching.[edit]

Very advertisement-like this was, even listed a $25 yearly price. What nonsense shill of an article this was. I made stuff a lot more neutral, removed all the wishy-washy peacock-language crap, the persistent explanations of what a DDNS is, et cetera.

This is not a very active talk page, I'm not sure many will reply. I've kept the magazine features but they're dubious, I reworded them to be less bragging, but just so I do not agitate fellow User:Yoshi24517 I won't remove them. I am in doubt whether email services should be in the first paragraph at all. I think there is no longer any advertising material and the page is smaller and more readable.
