Addressing non-notable entries[edit]

While there are plenty of Touhou derivative games that certainly are notable, and are covered by third-party reliable sources, currently there are also quite a few less notable games being listed as well. We should probably limit our inclusion criteria to games that have been covered by news entries or reviews from reliable game websites, otherwise there's essentially hundreds of Touhou derivative games: Touhouwiki currently lists 301 such games, and not even they have a complete directory of all such games. I'm not sure if usage of Steam store pages and Metacritic falls in line with WP:VGRS (at least outside the scope of "the aggregate score for X game was Y%"), but I'm happy to be corrected if I'm mistaken. Thoughts? --benlisquareTCE 03:49, 15 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have any issue with this proposition, my only question is regarding games with sequels - if one game in a series has sources, but not others, would it be better to include the whole series for continuity's sake? Loafiewa (talk) 19:28, 15 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hmmm. If it's part of a series, and at least one of the entries within it is covered by reliable sources, then I think that'd still be good to include. Again, this is just one person merely throwing a few suggestions around, and I'd definitely be open to other ideas as well, so there's no need to take my word as absolute gospel or anything. I'm just hoping that in three years from now, some random editor won't start throwing AfD requests around because they perceive some list entries as non-notable or something, I'd really like this page to stay alive. --benlisquareTCE 23:38, 15 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I should also mention, thanks for adding a ton of additional references earlier today. While it's tedious work, it's a necessary task to do. --benlisquareTCE 23:43, 15 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

TPDP[edit]

One relatively big game I noticed is missing is Gensou Ningyou Enbu, or Touhou Puppet Dance Performance as it's called in places that aren't Japan (and also its expansion, Yume no Kakera). It might be a meaty game, featuring everything up to LoLK, but it has almost no coverage outside of 2 Let's Plays that I'm not sure still exist. Should it be added to the list or is it not notable enough? cogsan (talk) 11:51, 25 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
