Question[edit]

...Why is it set up so that the default is a redlink rather than no link? Isn't that just encouraging people to make pages for un-notable people? The Calgary page doesn't do this. ConkblockCity (talk) 17:03, 23 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well in general the no links don't tend to come into it until you try to get it to the Featured level as lack of red links is one of the requirements to become featured so people just unlink them. You are right that red links encourage people to create the pages for un-notable people. The only issue with unlinking all the ones that aren't created is that it discourages people from creating articles for people who are notable. It's a bit of a catch-22 I suppose.
