Did You Know
A fact from this article appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the "Did you know?" column on July 19, 2009.
The text of the entry was: Did you know ... that Ryan Smyth has been captain of the Canadian Ice Hockey World Championships five times, more than any other Canadian player since 1977?

Possible discrepancies[edit]

Because I'm using this I thought the FLC was still open and reviewed the article for discrepancies, now I've checked the nomination page and seen the FLC was closed so thought I may as well post here.

  • "Twenty-five players have been inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame" I count 26 HHOFs.
  • I calculate Pat Riggin's GAA to be 2.82.
  • I calculate Jean-Sébastien Giguère's GAA to be 0.97.
  • Mark Recchi has a gold from 2007, but competed in 1990, 1993, 1997?
  • Glen Murray competed in 2004, but didn't win a gold like everybody else?
  • Denis Potvin won a silver in 1986, everyone else a bronze?
  • I have no knowledge of IH but I presume it's correct that the number of wins, losses and ties don't always add up to matches played for goaltenders, however Sean Burke has more wins, losses and ties than matches played, is that possible?
