Winslow letter of apology[edit]

Two things about the letter of apology from Winslow. First, for the anon user who entered the entire thing, that is not encyclopedic or appropriate for an encyclopedic article. Referencing that he did apologize, and maybe his most important point in the letter, is sufficient. I have revised this to approach it this way. However, the apology itself that you initially entered in its entirety needs to be referenced by footnote. I could not find the entire letter, so providng a link to it, following that section, is most appropriate. Thanks. MiamiDolphins3 05:22, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Soldier Tirade[edit]

I've re-added the "Soldier Tirade" section after User:Charger81 yanked the entire portion with the reasoning of "removing speculative content of matters unrelated to football". First, the incident was *not* speculative. It occurred in a video recorded post game interview and made national sports headlines, dominating highlight reels that day. It is also directly related to football, having occurred in the locker room after the game in question. But irrespective of whether it has anything to do with football or not, it is an incident of interest pertaining to Winslow that earned him a great deal of notoriety. Wikipedia is comprehensive and inclusive of a public figure's (in this case is a football player) entire life that are of public interest ... not just a bio of his career history and stats. I would not have discovered the source of this tirade had I tried to look it up after this edit.eYeDEF (talk) 15:08, 20 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Rape case[edit]

I noticed that the rape case was mentioned twice on Anthony Smith’s Wikipedia page. It’s mentioned in the beginning and then under personal life. It’s already mentioned in detail under personal life so I don’t think it’s necessary to put he was convicted of rape in the beginning of the page. Personally, it sounds redundant to me but I wanted to get others opinions before I did anything. Dreamerintheclouds (talk) 19:09, 14 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Per MOS:LEAD, the lead is a preview for the rest of the article, so will naturally repeat certain facts. Are you saying it's not a major point of his life to put in the lead?—Bagumba (talk) 01:30, 15 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
