Ohio State University's name[edit]

Ohio State University is formally known as The Ohio State University. Several universities and airports use the as part of their official title. I was kind of split about seeing the editted in, but, did not revert because that is its official name. Ronbo76 16:21, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

other radio work[edit]

As part of his KMOX radio career in St. Louis during the early 60s, on the occasion of Cardinals baseball night games at home Buck had additional duties afterwards. He would broadcast for half an hour or so from a restaurant at the Chase Park Plaza hotel, where he would chat with celebrities, politicians, or anyone else who was there for a meal or drink. I don't remember whether he did other non-game broadcasting during those years as well, but wouldn't be surprised. If so it might be worth mentioning in the article that his work was not limited to sports announcing. Publius3 (talk) 08:59, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

CBS NFL Football[edit]

I first heard (and saw) Jack Buck due to his being on regional NFL broadcasts on CBS Television in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The article says that he called regional games on CBS only until 1974. This statement does NOT agree with my memory. I know that "my memory" isn't proof, but in saying that I will also point out that the "1974" statement that is in the article also has no citation. The article as currently written would lead you to believe that he did not do any CBS TV NFL work after 1974, which I 100% believe is incorrect. 216.24.45.8 (talk) 20:39, 10 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

curious about microphone in the image[edit]

The microphone in the 1987 image of Jack Buck looks exactly what Channel 6 in Philadelphia was using at the time. Looking around the Internet, I see that St. Louis does not have a Channel 6 (and I assume not in 1987, either). There could have been other Channel 6 stations using a microphone like that at the time (I don't know).
