Testimonial of satisfied occasional editor[edit]

"..To get the same result as the Windows platform (that is, going to the beginning of the current line of text), one can press the left arrow while holding down the Command key.: THANK YOU WIKIPEDIA!!!! 3 years of frustration finally ends. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.81.234.82 (talkcontribs) 23:27, 28 January 2008

Other Home key[edit]

The numeric-keypad 7 key is multi-labeled with "Home", reflecting its ability to substitute for the main Home key when, i guess, NumLock is in effect. (Hard to tell; my NumLock key is so little used that it's very slow to pop back up!) May deserve mention (for the benefit of those whose NumLocks still work well).

Original usage / etymology[edit]

The Mac section sort of alludes to the original intent of the home key, but the article does not address this. It says it's the opposite of the End key, but the words Home and End are hardly antonyms so some historical perspective would be nice. I'm not actually an authority on this subject, I came here to find this out... so I will just leave this note for anyone who finds it. --Also the Home key itself lends itself more directly to the modern web browser concept of a "homepage" and indeed IE uses alt+Home to navigate to the homepage and so may other browsers. Probably worth adding to the article.--72.173.160.58 (talk) 15:07, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
