I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Historiography of the Nanking Massacre's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "Askew":

  • From The Rape of Nanking (book): "The Nanjing Incident". Electronic journal of contemporary Japanese studies. 2002-04-04. Retrieved 2007-07-21. {{cite web}}: Check date values in: |date= (help)

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 02:43, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This problem is fixed. Pretty cool bot. --Richard (talk) 02:54, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Recent Additions to this article[edit]

Recently, there have been several additions and reverts to this article, by Studiokazuyo. The majority of the changes are not sourced, and do not appear to be supported by pre-existing sources already in the article. On his talk page, Studiokazuyo has intimated that he feels the article is too "unbalanced," I would like to suggest that he read WP:NPOV, particularly WP:UNDUE; as claims of minimization of the massacre are not significant viewpoints among scholars in Japan or elsewhere, they should not be presented as such. In particular, they should not be presented as the dominant viewpoint, in Japan or elsewhere, which Studiokazuyo's edits have implied they are, and which they are not. Finally, I would like to call to Studiokazuyo's attention WP:IMPARTIAL, and note that the format and tone of his additions is not consistent with it, and that while Wikipedia should strive to describe historical disputes as they are in scholarly discourse (and there is no significant dispute in scholarly discourse on this subject, certainly not to the scale that Studiokazuyo's edits imply), she should not seek to advocate directly on behalf of any side, as Studiokazuyo's edits do. If, on the other hand, Studiokazuyo feels that there is some reason that his additions should remain on this page, in the same format or elsewhere, I would welcome him to write them here.Zmflavius (talk) 02:14, 4 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
