Untitled[edit]

Why is this page slated for deletion? The band has not been active for quite some time, however the music is still available on Youtube and is occasionally heard on the radio...If someone wants to know more about the group, this is the only resource available... 24.202.155.41 (talk) 19:45, 29 July 2011 (UTC)Steve[reply]

That's exactly the problem. There aren't any reliable, verifiable sources that demonstrate the notability of the group. --Alan the Roving Ambassador (User:N5iln) (talk) 20:01, 29 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think the Montreal Gazette, Billboard magazine and the JUNO Awards are pretty reliable and verifiable. --Rburriel (talk) 19:51, 30 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. You need to make these comments in the actual deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gogh Van Go -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 23:40, 30 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I did. Please let me know if I did it wrong. I appreciate your support, Boing!--Rburriel (talk) 03:21, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I really just meant to suggest that the "I think the Montreal Gazette, Billboard magazine and the JUNO Awards are pretty reliable and verifiable" comment is probably worth adding too -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 09:05, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Le Studio or Studio Nomade?[edit]

I've found an entry at the Canadian Pop Encyclopedia that tells us Gogh Van Go's first album, 1993's self titled album, was recorded at Studio Nomade and produced by Pierre Marchand.

Here's the catch. The (not so thoroughly annotated) article on Morin Heights, Quebec (where Studio Nomade is located) mentions two music studios, Le Studio and Studio Nomade. Again, according to the Morin Heights article, Le Studio was in operation in 1993, but Studio Nomade only opened in 1994 and recorded exclusively for Sarah McLachlan through 2000. So it's possible that it was actually recorded at Le Studio, not Studio Nomade. BUT the Canadian Pop Encyclopedia article also mentions that the album was produced by Pierre Marchand, who produced Sarah McLachlan's albums. So I imagine - although this is entirely speculative - that Marchand used Studio Nomade to produce Gogh Van Go's album, perhaps as a warm up for Sarah McLachlan.
