The EcuRed article says he was a member of the Partido Socialista Popular (Cuba). --Error (talk) 22:58, 18 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it does, but it says so without citation to any reliable source, and without any indication that his party membership had any consequence in his life. He was not a politician, so his membership in that party (even if it could be verified from a reliable source) does not appear to be relevant. The EcuRed reference for the whole article is Biografía de un cimarrón, which I have not read.
The infobox in this article says Slave, sugar plantation worker, and political activist. If true, his membership may be relevant.

Since the page makes no other mention of his political activities, I recommend removing "political activist" from the infobox. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 01:58, 20 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
This piece by Luis Cino says that Barnet accentuated the political touches to please the new authorities. It seems that the main source about Montejo is his conversations as published by Barnet. That may be problematic. --Error (talk) 18:18, 20 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
