Changes[edit]

It seems editing has been disabled, for me at least. I was talking with Bobs instructor for drumline in the marching band and actually found out that although he was the section leader there, he didn't hold that position for very long and was demoted soon after. He said Bob wasn't very helpful with teaching other people so he put someone else at being the section leader.

the very first sentence is kind of sketchy, saying "he has blond hair" we can see that in the picture. i think it should just be "Bob Bryar is the drummer from my chemical romance" or just somthing along those lines

first sentence in the first section, it should say he played drums IN symphonic AND jazz band as opposed to Played drums and symphonic in a jazz band.

Athe first sentence of the third paragraph is worded very awkwardly, taht should probably b changed soon.

Engaged[edit]

It says Bob is engaged to a dummer guy in the Used. Either I don't know my stuff about the band, or this is one seriously lame joke.HES MARRIED!!!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.38.28.212 (talk) 14:51, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

April 11[edit]

I updated the page a bit.. feel free to play with it. (Aspen Coles 21:09, 11 April 2007 (UTC))[reply]

"and his dreams came true"[edit]

Surely this kind of comment is best kept for a Bryar fan site, not a neutral POV encyclopaedic entry? (Niall Jackson 20:35, 29 January 2006 (UTC))[reply]

Birthday[edit]

I don't know a lot about Bob Bryar, however, the reference used at the bottem of the page (http://www.imnotokay.net/mychemicalromance/info/bobbryar/) says he was born in the year 1979, while the article currently says 1980. I changed it, to 1979, seems like a simple error. Orfen 03:52, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Birthday...[edit]

according to the article in here bob was born in 1979 but other biographies say that he was born in 1980 and 1981 so im not really sure which was the exact date in which he was born and im not sure that anyone else in here does either unless they have asked him or gotten the fact from a more reliable source than a fansite or some other non-official website.

New Picture?[edit]

This page should have a new picture of Bob. :D CustardToast 03:14, 16 November 2006 (UTC) YEs, pictures are nice :D[reply]

The Black Parade[edit]

This section needs to be deleted now. It's completely wrong, or maybe I just can't read it. It's very poorly written. I mean, is it his OPINION that the album isn't selling well, or is that a fact? It just isn't written in the style of an encyclopedia.

Its terrible english ? in two weeks the black parade has sold more than half a million copies, and will obviously suprass MCR's older album. As for the singles, the album is new so only one single has been release and 'i'm not okay' was not a hit. You call 86 on the billboard a hit ? Haha give me a break.

FLW video[edit]

Frank has said personally that the Famous Last Words video was not up to My Chemical Romance par, and that the video played on MTV2 was not the video they're releasing for the single. While this is a bunch of speculation, I'm going to change the comment about his leg injury to read that "during one version of the video," until we know for sure.--Jude 06:39, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures?[edit]

I read somewhere that Bob loathes getting his picture taken. This might want to be included in the article —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.242.77.19 (talk) 00:47, 13 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Middle Name[edit]

What exactly is Bob's middle name? First it was up at Nathaniel, then it was changed to Cory, and now its Nathaniel Cory. Does anyone actually know what it is? --Yunaresuka 01:30, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

His full name is Bob Cory Bryar, he said this on a Rockline[radiostation] interview about three weeks ago. --MCRluvr 07:14, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have website saved on to my computer, witch is run by mcr saying that his name is Robert Nathaniel Cory Bryar- Candy1000

In their biography book titled "My Chemical Romance: The Inside Story", his full name is stated as Robert Nathaniel Bryar...

ya, thats what i though! oh well...

I went to school with him from kindergarden through highschool... From what I know, his full name is Robert Cory Bryar. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.198.64.34 (talk) 18:12, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's definitely Cory, not Nathaniel. It's in "Something Incredible This Way Comes" the MCR biography, and so many other sources. Grungedude22 (talk) 19:10, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

college?[edit]

Is there really no source saying anything about Bob's college other than he went to university in Gainesville, Florida? There are only two schools for higher education there- Santa Fe Community College and the University of Florida. Considering the wording is always that he went to "university" here, would it not be a logical deduction to say he went to U of F? Oroneko 05:08, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What a talk page![edit]

For a 2 line article, the talk page is humming! Aaadddaaammm 10:49, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

... It was bigger... A lot bigger but now it's just gone... just gone... it's so wierd... 203.213.143.148 11:34, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oddly Small Page?[edit]

No mention of his recentish accident? No mention of how he replaced Matt Pelissier? No family history, band history, musical education...or anything? This article really needs a makeover!

I agree. This article should say WAY more about his personal life and a trivia section would be nice too! Who doesnt like trivia...

Not from New Jersey[edit]

It should be noted that he is the only member not from New Jersey. 67.188.172.165 18:49, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It says that he's from Chicago, which isn't in new jersey... I think that's kind of self explanatory.--JUDE talk 21:48, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

He used to get into trouble as a kid because he would pull stuff apart he also got into fights in highschool and had to leave he says it in a clip on youtube bob interveiw 4 He also says that all he wanted to do was drum --86.143.36.33 12:51, 9 June 2007 (UTC)--86.143.36.33 12:51, 9 June 2007 (UTC)mcrobsessed He also says in a interveiw on you tube that he likes tatu and christina agulira --86.137.95.83 16:49, 9 June 2007 (UTC) mcrobsessive[reply]

Details[edit]

The part that says "He has blonde hair, blue eyes and a lip piercing" is completely irrelevant. User:FendiCatz
Also, some other details are irrelevant or wrong are, he is the only member that was not an original member (Frank was not an original member either), a lot of citations are missing, and the article is written poorly.

yeah but frank was a member at the beggining while bob joined the band 2 albums in while while frank joined in the makin of the 1st album

By the way on the job section it says "professional sex machine" now i know hes hot but isn't it meant 2 be an encyclopedia? LOL

Wrist Injuries[edit]

Shouldn't someone post something on his recent wrist wrist injuries? They seem to really bad, and they postponed Mama because of it. I would, but my internet is horrible, and I can't be connected for long. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.12.72.89 (talk) 22:58, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Filmography[edit]

Didn't he star in Oh! My Dear Desire? That was in iMDB. 125.60.243.4 (talk) 06:06, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Advertisment.[edit]

The part about his sticks and drums seems a lot like an ad. Utilizes the Paragon series, etc. Ixidor251 (talk) 18:34, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. Needs to be deleted.Mr. Greenchat 18:38, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect[edit]

This page should stay and not be a My Chemical Romance redirect to MCR's page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by PacoDaKing14Sportz (talkcontribs) 15:10, 17 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@PacoDaKing14Sportz: Considering this page is now up for AfD it might be a good idea to elaborate on that now. At the moment, I fail to see any reason why a redirect should not be implemented. Karst (talk) 16:21, 27 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect.[edit]

This article has gone through a large number of redirects. The AfD cited above was set up to settle the issue. Now the article has been re-created and does not address the point ""Note that members of notable bands are redirected to the band's article, not given individual articles, unless they have demonstrated individual notability for activity independent of the band, such as solo releases." as stated under WP:MUSIC. All the references continue to point to My Chemical Romance. The redirect should be re-instated as per @Natg 19:'s previous AfD closure. Karst (talk) 13:58, 30 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Karst: The previous article prior to the AfD was very messy and not created well with much of the info as irrelevant and unsourced. The new and current article is very well sourced, showing the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent of the musician or ensemble itself (WP:MUSIC). Take John Deacon for example, a notable musician due to being in a notable band, very much like Bryar. Much of the info on Deacon's article contain his career in Queen. In his "Career" section, all of the info there relate to Queen. Whether it be while he was in the band or leading up to his recruitment, Deacon is notable for being in Queen and no where outside of the band. Even all of Deacon's post-Queen actions point to Queen. The info on Bryar's new article is much improved with much more reliable, independent sources for Bryar's actions pre, during and post-My Chemical Romance. Sekyaw (talk) 03:14, 27 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
There is no doubt that the article has been improved with better sourced information. Something that is generally difficult with drummers (I have some experience with that when I did some work on the Brent Fitz page). The issue here is the AfD and the consensus that was reached there on 'activity independent of the band'. But I guess that perhaps needs to be tested then with a second AfD, which I am reluctant to do.
@Karst: Ha, I agree that it is difficult with drummers. I noticed the AfD before I submitted it on AfC (in which it got accepted for creation) and the reason per the note on WP:MUSIC of "unless they have demonstrated individual notability for activity independent of the band, such as solo releases". But that somewhat confused me as there are many articles of notable musicians in a notable band that have little to no activity outside of that band. If anything it passes WP:GNG showing "significant coverage [that] addresses the topic directly and in detail", as info on the subject's actions including injuries, his departure and his comments years after his departure were significantly covered. Sekyaw (talk) 15:44, 1 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Did You Know?: Burns[edit]

I saw the factoid in the "Did You Know?" today about him suffering 3rd degree burns on his arms and legs, but the source for that part of this article says that was a rumor, and that the band formally announced that he got a "bad burn" on the back of his leg, which seems like a much less serious injury. Should the article be updated to reflect that? I'm not sure what to do about the DYK? section. - Chachilongbow (talk) 16:47, 8 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Chachilongbow: Sorry, I hadn't realized the statement on how it was a rumor. When I looked more info on it, every source I found stated that it was third degree burns. I added a ref from Spin Magazine stating that it was indeed third-degree burns. Thanks for pointing that out. Sekyaw (talk) 01:07, 15 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Bias[edit]

Give this article an objective read (totally neutral person re: this band, for the record), and see for yourself if it feels neutral/not edited by the subject or the subject's fans. 73.144.126.35 (talk) 05:43, 26 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
