Welcome to WikiProject Percussion, a WikiProject dedicated to creating and improving all percussion-related articles.

About WikiProject Percussion[edit]

Goals:

  • To improve percussion-related articles to good or featured standard. (Timpani had for a long time been our flagship article, but it is now a delisted FA.)
  • To improve categorization of percussion related articles.
  • To rate and review percussion related articles.
  • To compile a list of useful resources on percussion to use in article referencing and writing.

Scope:

Structure:

  • We are a rather small project, so having directors and coordinators seems like overkill. Unless our membership expands greatly, we are just a discussion and article improvement center.
  • Just like the sounds our instruments produce, many contributors give a short intense burst of activity, some give occasional, almost subliminal but important transients, and a few just keep pounding away. We welcome all.

Terminology: See Wikipedia:WikiProject Percussion/Glossary which is a local work in progress.
