There's actually a ridiculous amount of information available on this museum considering its age. I added some but there's more if someone wants to tackle it. TRAVELLINGCARIMy storyTell me yours 19:43, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Daily Tribune Advertisement, 1860.[edit]

Whilst researching pages of the New York Daily Tribune, January 2nd., 1860 I took note of the fourth block, fith column advertisement for Barnum's American Museum. The admittance fees were (quote) '25 cents; Children under 10, 13 cents; Parquet, 13 cents extra'. The link to the page : http://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/lccn/sn83030213/1860-01-02/ed-1/seq-1/ . If anyone can explain the 'Parquet' admission fee I'd be most interested to hear from you! MZionC (talk) 19:42, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Parquet refers to theater seating. There was a theater and a lecture hall, but we don't know to which the fee applied. -- SEWilco (talk) 15:01, 1 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
