Use of the acronym "GPH"[edit]

The use of the acronym "GPH" is highly unusual except in MNLF literature. The linked pages do not have GPH in them, but the link titles are labelled with GPH. This is a possibly propagandic use of acronyms to make both the MNLF and GPH appear to be the same kind of thing when they are not.

The Philippines is almost always referred to as either "The Philippines" or "The Republic of the Philippines" anywhere else. If abbreviated, it is usually abbreviated as RP (Replublic of the Philippines). I suggest replacing frivolous usage of GPH with either "The Philippine Government" or as RP if an acronym is necessary. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 182.18.220.192 (talk) 22:55, 18 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A better name? Mindanao peace process?[edit]

Is this name sufficiently common enough to meet WP:CommonName? I don't think that it is. Mindanao peace process I think would fit better. It is certainly used by newspapers worldwide (e.g. the Philippine Daily Inquirer [1] who uses the tag "Mindanao peace process", and the Guardian of London [2]). The Philippine government has used the phrase.[3]

Certainly "in the Philippines" can be dropped since no other countries have a peace process with the Bangsamoro.--Iloilo Wanderer (talk) 03:17, 2 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Merge with Bangsamoro peace process[edit]

We have two articles for exactly the same thing! Charles Essie (talk) 22:04, 11 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I don't agree with the merge proposal. "Peace process with the Bangsamoro in the Philippines" refers the overall efforts of the Philippine government to resovle the Moro conflict through peaceful means with all groups involved. "Bangsamoro peace process" (Which I reverted back to "Framework Agreement on the Bangsamoro" refers to the specific preliminary peace agreement between the Philippine government and the Moro Islamic Front (MILF). "Peace process with the Bangsamoro in the Philippines" includes not just the MILF but the Moro National Liberation Front, and other moro groups.Hariboneagle927 (talk) 14:47, 21 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Peace process with the Bangsamoro in the PhilippinesBangsamoro peace process – The current title is needlessly long. This is shorter and more straightforward. Mindanao peace process (as mentioned above) and Moro peace process would also work. Charles Essie (talk) 15:23, 21 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Support - "Bangsamoro peace process" is a plausible shorter term. The current title is a mouthful while a shorter article name could be used.Hariboneagle927 (talk) 16:08, 21 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support seems that other peace process articles follow the same naming system --Lenticel (talk) 01:09, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support since it's the more common turn of phrase anyway.- Alternativity (talk) 01:26, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
