Focus on UK[edit]

This article seems to be entirely focused on the UK. Does the term appear in other countries as well? MMad (talk) 19:52, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's a common slang in India. It refers to students who typically sit in the last row of the classroom, are not good with studies, etc.

As far as I am aware the concept of a backbencher is predominately associated with the Westminster parliamentary system, so I made that change. As far as I am concerned the globalize tag is thus unnecessary. Riyehn (talk) 07:09, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
