Archbishop?[edit]

It was suggested that Adrian should be dropped from the succession lists as he never accepted the position of archbishop. I believe other apointees who did not, or could not, take the position are included elsewhere. Let's see what consensus says. Thoughts - stay or go? -- SECisek 13:54, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'd say go, in this case. Other cases where we list them in the succession boxes are where there was an actual election by the cathedral chapter, which is clearly not the case here. When I get home I can check the Handbook of British Chronology on this, but I do not remember him being listed in there.... nor is he on PASE as archbishop PASE entry on Hadrian. I am on the road, and probably will be for at least another week, so no go on checking anything that's printed. Ealdgyth | Talk 22:48, 5 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Patron Saint of Beer?[edit]

I came to this article from a wikilink at Christianity and alcohol, which claims that Adrian was the patron saint of beer. This article mentions nothing of beer or brewing. I don't know if the link was a case of vandalism or simply a case of linking to the wrong Saint Adrian. If, however, this Adrian really is the patron saint of beer, then something needs to be said here.

I doubt it. A Quick Google shows that references to "St Adrian" refer to one born in 303, so it's not this one. Reliable sources on this topic are rare, however. Rodhullandemu 15:37, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
