Historical nominations and wins
For those looking to take note in the article of milestones, there will be several. Viola Davis will become the first Black woman to have two Oscars for acting and only the 2nd to win best actor (she got supporting for "Fences"). But Chloe Zhao has already racked up several just from being nominated. First Asian woman for director among them. But one that I haven't seen mentioned is she is the first woman to get four nominations in the same year (picture, director, writer and editor). I think if she wins she might be the first person to ever win that many for the same film.
I'm sure they will be others, just giving out some starting points...
This is the first year where two women have been nominated for Best Director.

Hopkins victory over Boseman
I made an edit mentioning that, but it was mistaken for vandalism. TBF, it was only one line and I didn't really give any context for the edit, so it's understandable. I thought it was relevant because Boseman was actually announced as the winner, before they did a switcheroo and announced Hopkins as the true winner.
