Two thirds?[edit]

[1] The article currently claims that the merger proposal initially failed with 12/17 votes because that was one short of a 2/3 majority. 12/17 is more than 2/3, so something isn't right here. [2] Scott Surgent, The Complete Historical and Statistical Reference to the World Hockey Association, p.10 says a three-quarters majority was required for merger, though later it says (oddly) that 14 votes were necessary for approval (the final vote was 14-3). Yeah, I realized there was definitely an error there after I reverted you, but got tied up before I could research whether my 12/17 figure was wrong, or the 2/3rds majority part was wrong. You are indeed correct. Reso lute 02:32, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

American[edit]

The use of American for US is not common world wide. In many parts of the world American includes Canadians, Mexicans and Argentinians etc. In most of the world America is a continent and American for US is sloppy lnguage.
