Dubious (2017)[edit]

Probably not the correct tag. NYS is not defined in the article. I suspect RYS was intended, but I was not bold enough to do it. Can someone who knows either put the correct acronym or expand this one. Op47 (talk) 15:44, 25 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed, it is RYS according to the sources -- 70.51.203.56 (talk) 02:35, 23 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Queen's Cup[edit]

Please see my entry at Talk:America's Cup#Queen's Cup, for you comments. Broichmore (talk) 12:15, 27 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, the 1851 race was part of a RYS series of events. You could add an alternate name for the race, based on that source, as the 1851 Queen's Cup / 1851 Royal Squadron Cup / 1851 Royal Yacht Squadron Cup. Though you should write an article on the Royal Squadron Cup / Royal Yacht Squadron Cup event series. Bear in mind that this 1851 trophy is not the same trophy as that given out in other RYS Cups prior to or following the 1851 event. The 1851 trophy was taken to New York City and was not competed for afterwards by the RYS. The 1851 trophy was sculpted in 1848 so clearly cannot have been the trophy for races predating that. It was only used for the 1851 race in the RYS race series. Though bear in mind that there were other races at the 1851 regatta. There is likely a different 1851 Queen's Cup at that regatta that was won on a different day in a different race. -- 70.51.203.56 (talk) 04:41, 28 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
