Question[edit]

I am looking for the Audio entry button, where is it? How may I apply for non photogenic category? Thank you kindly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DRAKO777 (talkcontribs) 15:25, 18 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Cookie212121 (talk) 06:53, 9 November 2017 (UTC)Wikipedia said they needed help to promote the competition through an organization. What about a school? Like posted in a school newsletter this adds about 2000 more people who know about this? Plz, Answer Wikipedia! Thx![reply]

hi

hi

Firstly, I am definitively not a scientist. Nor political scientist Sam Clovis, Clovis City,....

The Wikipedia:Wiki_Science_Competition_2017_in_the_United_States instructions claim or even audio or video cute pictures of your cat. I do write in hopes of clarification, whether that is literally true.

Please, what are the limits regards a video, as well as regarding a pussycat, .....? If I cannot qualify, then this request & response would be the end of it.

Thank You.

Dhsert (talk) 23:50, 3 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Dhsert: Any audio or video on a scientific topic is eligible. The part about pictures of your cat is meant to be humorous, but if you have cat pictures you believe have scientific value, go for it. Antony–22 (talkcontribs) 04:56, 4 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You.

My pussycat, " Sam " has a variety of reactions of which I make inference; however, I am scientifically ignorant.

Some of my images are of where he would, for instance, lick my slippers. I infer that he likes my sweat, skin, hair, smell; but, I entirely lack any fact.

I have a variety of images of him doing whatever, that I wonder about.

There is also the moment when, for instance, amongst others, when a hummingbird had been trapped in the carport: I put a lot of effort to convince it that it had been just several inches from its liberty.

Such images intrigue me scientifically; however, I have no concept whether these are a violation. I wonder whether my interest in learning the cause of something constitutes what you qualify as science.

I know that prejudice & misperception are more powerful than truth, as I look @ everything everywhere. Reality is whatever the most powerful voice claims.

~~Hello, I have a question (obviously). How do you pick your judges? Are there any requirements to become a judge? I don't want to be one; I'm just curious about the general judge-picking process :)~~

Hallo, Would you be accepting artwork or a painting of something scientific? Thanks! Nölah Leich (talk) 02:13, 9 November 2017 (UTC)Nölah Leich — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nölah Leich (talkcontribs) 02:08, 9 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sign your posts, otherwise you're just junking up the feed. IWikiEdit (talk) 18:35, 8 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Cats[edit]

I strongly suggest that folks don't be invited to upload images of their cats. If you go to the commons category you will see thousands of funny and cute (uncyclopedia, imo) images of cats. Also, the Cat article warns editors to not upload images of their cats and insert these images into the article. Barbara (WVS)   11:12, 4 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Twitter[edit]

Hi. We agreed on the hashtags #WSC2017 #WikiScience #WikiScience2017. Can we put them also on this page? It's one of the most visited one, and we need to create network on social media to reach the other countries without banner. Thank you.--Alexmar983 (talk) 15:41, 4 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Can we?--Alexmar983 (talk) 06:54, 5 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Semiprotection[edit]

Maybe we could ask for a semiprotection, this page has too many revert edits in history and many views.--Alexmar983 (talk) 06:57, 5 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Press coverage[edit]

Maybe you can start to add a paragraph about coverage on the newspapers and webistes. A possiblity is to write an article also for enwikinews.--Alexmar983 (talk) 06:58, 5 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Alexmar983: Is there any press coverage from the U.S. as of yet? If you can suggest international ones I can include them. Antony–22 (talkcontribs) 03:54, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Antony-22: without google in China is difficult for me to know. There will be something "big" in Italy after the 15th, probably, I will put it on the commons page since I am much faster to update that. I have a preliminary link from Italy but they MUST fix a copyright tag, I am not showing it around otherwise. It's a matter of days.--Alexmar983 (talk) 04:33, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This looks strange to me, very strange. That's all I really know what to say on the matter. Dfcorrea00 (talk) 17:02, 14 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Prizes?[edit]

I see the word "prizes" in the "Categories and prizes" section of the main article page. But no prizes are listed. What are they?

Humor[edit]

Should non-intrusive (I don't know what else to call it) humor be allowed on this page? "Monkey selfies" replacing 'photos of animals' isn't a necessarily negative change (except for the fact that it's a reverted change), but the talk of a US jury is simply nonsense. Is there any kind of grace for this, or should this page be entirely serious? Dfcorrea00 (talk) 17:06, 14 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
