Jennifer Ho tagged for speedy deletion?[edit]

Hi editathoners! One of the pages I created this weekend, Jennifer Ho, has been tagged for speedy deletion. This has never happened to me before and I'm not sure what I should do next. Could someone take a look and offer advice? Fuzchia (talk) 22:02, 5 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I was glad you started that article. Issues about Homelessness are so important... but neglected on Wiki. Also, I deleted the speedy delete. I hate those: I think they should only be used for 1) hoaxes 2) abuse of Wiki and nothing else. Grrr. Megalibrarygirl (talk) 22:33, 5 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! I agree. Even if she weren't at HUD now, Ho's work fighting homelessness is hugely notable and in my research she's largely recognized as an expert on the issue. I was super freaked out because I've perused deletion discussions, but this wasn't even the chance to let people discuss the topic's merit. Anyway, thanks. I've expanded the lead graph a bit to make her notability clearer and will keep working on it. Fuzchia (talk) 22:51, 5 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I agree... the speedy delete is awful and I really think it's abused by editors. >.< Your article is a good. I can't believe it was tagged, except that so many people think homelessness isn't "important" or "worthy of being notable" or whatever. Plus, there's this whole Wiki thing where people don't even let others finish their work before slapping on a speedy. :P Megalibrarygirl (talk) 23:23, 5 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

New talk page template[edit]

There's a new template {{WIR-APA 2015}}, in the style of later WiR talk page templates, which can be added to talk pages of articles created for this editathon. I note that quite a high proportion, though not all, already have the "one-off" template {{APAWiR2015}}. PamD 16:06, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
