Account exclusively adding links to a single site

Kristinaerogers (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · blacklist hits · AbuseLog · what links to user page · count · COIBot · Spamcheck · user page logs · x-wiki · status · Edit filter search · Google · StopForumSpam) Mvolz (talk) 16:50, 2 February 2017 (UTC)

I notified the editor.
This looks like good faith editing from a new editor adding what at times might be useful external links.
Looking over a few of the edits, it's difficult to fine links that clearly belong. The relationship between the person being interviewed and the subject matter of the article is often obscure.
The second voicesofoklahoma.com link needs to be removed in any cases where the other link should remain, like this. --Ronz (talk) 17:46, 2 February 2017 (UTC)

@Ronz: Thanks for looking into this, I wasn't sure if it was good faith or spam. It's starting to look like it might be paid editing? Mvolz (talk) 15:28, 5 February 2017 (UTC)
It looks like the good faith editing we regularly get from people who work for libraries like this one. It would be helpful if one of them would respond and clean up their editing.

Hello @Ronz:, sorry for the delayed response. Yes, this is good faith editing. Voices of Oklahoma (non-profit) is an archive of oral history stories that actively records and posts new interviews. I work with Kristinaerogers and it appears we are out of bounds with some links. Some of the work she's been doing is to simply update links since our URL has slightly changed. To resolve this issue we will go back and review all links and better scrutinize their relationship to the page. Are there any other steps you would suggest for us? We are not active reviewers, so this is new territory for us. We want to operate within the rules of this community and your help is appreciated. (Lmhyde (talk) 16:04, 8 February 2017 (UTC))
Currently there are 282 links, about 80 that obviously need removal. I expect many more should go as well. --Ronz (talk) 16:36, 5 February 2017 (UTC)
Just removed this one [1], which was an interview with the subject's grandfather. A bit WP:EL happy. 2601:188:1:AEA0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 16:16, 7 February 2017 (UTC)

@Lmhyde:Thanks for responding. Yes, it would help if you could go back over all the edits from your group and clean them up. The second link to voicesofoklahoma.com should be removed in all cases. I suggest trimming the information (eg [2] [3]), and making it clear why the link is relevant to the article. If it doesn't look strongly relevant to the article topic and the notability of that topic, then it should probably be removed completely. --Ronz (talk) 17:44, 8 February 2017 (UTC)

The Escape Hunt Experience - 6 single-purpose accounts

The article The Escape Hunt Experience appears to be blatant spam - all substantial edits have been by single-purpose accounts and the citations provided are almost entirely promotional in nature. Other articles have been targetted for spam links, including this especially offensive edit in which one of the accounts deletes material relating to rival companies under the guise of removing spam.
