The beginning[edit]

Eventually we'll get moving to improve Knicks related articles. For now the groundwork is done to create the needed infrastructure of pages, categories and templates. After that is done, we'll start recruiting editors and get to work. NYCRuss 15:49, 27 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I did some extensive work on the main article this past summer and I only have to finish sourcing the Ewing Era ('85-'00) and then we need to figure out what to do with the rivalries section since an IP added that and then didn't bother to source and/or go into some detail about all of them. After that,copy-editing will be necessary and then we'll see where it goes. Ultimately, I'd like to model it after the Toronto Raptors and take it to FAC. In regards to anything else Knick-related, I haven't gotten there yet. -- The Writer 2.0 Talk 22:20, 27 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The main article looks like it is in decent shape. Is there any help that you need? About the rivalries, the Philly one can probably be deleted because it is just a header with one red-link. The Nets addition looks pretty sloppy. Most of it is not supported with sources, and is written with a lot of hyperbole. I'm not sure what we do with that. Besides getting this task force set up, I've been working on the List of New York Knicks first and second round draft picks with the goal to take it to FLC. I'll definitely need someone to copyedit once I'm finished but I'm quite a ways from that. Agreed on all points about the rivalries, once I finish with the references I'll take a look at them. -- The Writer 2.0 Talk 21:59, 28 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I went ahead and deleted the section about the Sixers rivalry because it contained nothing but a red link. NYCRuss 19:38, 1 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Tasks[edit]

The tasks section on main project page is blank. I left it that way when this project was recently created because that agenda should be created by all of the task force members. What tasks do you think should be listed, and how should they be prioritized? NYCRuss 22:55, 31 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I went ahead and added a {{todo}} template. I also added three things to it. More later. NYCRuss 19:36, 1 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Template:2011–12 New York Knicks season game log has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for discussion page. NYCRuss 16:47, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Linsanity!!![edit]

Lots of excitement about Jeremy Lin. The Jeremy Lin article is now semi-protected indefinitely "to promote compliance with the policy on biographies of living people". Anyone who can not edit this page, but would like to, should make an edit request at Talk:Jeremy Lin. Also on that talk page there is extensive ongoing debate about many facets of Jeremy Lin's life, but mostly about whether he is Chinese and/or Taiwanese.

Now that anonymous-IP users can't edit the Jeremy Lin article, their enthusiasm is spilling over to other parts of Wikipedia. Here are some articles, etc. that we should watch:
