David di Donatello

After doing half Nastro d'Argento, I've started with David di Donatello awards. It's a lot of work, but it's an excellent start because there's a list of important films (the best), directors, actors, etc that aren't at wikipedia, and deserve to be at.

By the way, I've seen that Federico Fellini and Bernardo Bertolucci have got template for their filmography on their pages. Even Lina Wertmüller has got a template list !!!!

I think that Michelangelo Antonioni, Roberto Rossellini, Luchino Visconti and Vittorio De Sica DESERVE template too. Do you agree? I don't know how to create a template.

Pictures

in Italian wikipedia there's more photographs with Alberto Sordi. In English, for Clara Calamai and Massimo Girotti, we can use Ossessione film poster (faces of the 2 actors). Rossellini's La Paura

I'd like to create La Paura, but I don't know if it's better to do it as La Paura, or La Paura (Fear), or (Fear 19.. film).

I think "La Paura" or "Fear" would be the best two choices, depending on whether you want to use the English name. I've also seen it called "Angst". By the way, if you do title it Fear, it should be "Fear (1954 film)". --PhantomS 21:35, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

If you do use the title Angst, should not have the (La Paura) after it. The title would be "Angst (1954 film)". The Italian title would be included in the article. By the way, please sign your posts with --~~~~. --PhantomS 12:42, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

Claudia Cardinale

Be careful with Cardinale. I've edited on her filmography La pantera rosa, because it's the Spanish title for The Pink Panther, and there was more Italian titles in English speaking films such as masterpiece "Conversation piece (film)".

By the way, "Il magistrato" is a wonderful hidden and forgotten drama. I loved it.

You might want to talk with Wikipedia:WikiProject Italy, as I'm certain they'd be interested. (This task force does technically need to be shared with them.) Up a grade?

I added refs, did a search for reviews et cetera and cleaned "Titus" up using cquote and stuff, whatcha think? it was a bit all over the place when i decided to finally do something with it, by the way, ive just finished my score page for it but i dont think it would be good to merge them as my score page is practically a half decent album page in its own right, thanks again! I'd keep the album as its own page; that tends to be standard practice, as I recall. As for the article, it's a good start at cleanup, but I would actually get rid of the block quote (it is far too short for blocking), and get rid of the Trivia/Misc section by either sourcing and integrating into prose, or deleting where that cannot be done. Also, the references themselves could use some cleanup into proper format, and keep in mind that IMDb is not considered a reliable source. Hello. I recently rewrote List of Italian submissions for Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and would like to try for featured list status, but I need a general reference that lists the submissions. An example of one is this for List of Japanese submissions for Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, which I also wrote and is at WP:FLC right now. Changes to the WP:1.0 assessment scheme

As you may have heard, we at the Wikipedia 1.0 Editorial Team recently made some changes to the assessment scale, including the addition of a new level. The new description is available at WP:ASSESS.

• The new C-Class represents articles that are beyond the basic Start-Class, but which need additional references or cleanup to meet the standards for B-Class.
• The criteria for B-Class have been tightened up with the addition of a rubric, and are now more in line with the stricter standards already used at some projects.
• A-Class article reviews will now need more than one person, as described here.

Each WikiProject should already have a new C-Class category at Category:C-Class_articles. If your project elects not to use the new level, you can simply delete your WikiProject's C-Class category and clarify any amendments on your project's assessment/discussion pages. The bot is already finding and listing C-Class articles.

Please leave a message with us if you have any queries regarding the introduction of the revised scheme. Looks like a good start! When you start a film article, don't forget to go to its talk page and add the {{Film}} template there! Le ragazze di San Frediano

I noticed this was listed as a To-Do for the Task Force, and I've started to put together notes for Le ragazze di San Frediano in my sandbox.

The challenge here is there are three possible articles for this subject: the 1949 Pratolini novel, the 1954 film, and the 2007 TV miniseries. On Italian Wikipedia there is an article for the book and an article for the miniseries. Apparently no separate article (yet) for the 1954 movie.

I could just boldly start one article under the heading of the novel, and let the '54 and '07 adaptations split off organically later, but as this is listed as something the Task Force wants to do eventually anyway, I wanted to bring it here first to see if you folks have any thoughts. If you feel like each topic can stand on its own under Wikipedia's notability standards, you can create a stub article for each topic. I recommend putting a few references in each article to solidify its case for notability to visitors. Would any of these topics be covered in English-language publications? You got it - the English-language sources issue is my main struggle. I've found some commentary on the novel and some tidbits on the '54 movie, but for the '07 miniseries I've found nothing in English. I guess that's the main reason I'm inclined to just start one umbrella article right now - WP:N is far easier to satisfy in the short term with one article.

If you do have any insight on places to look for sourcing, I'd appreciate any advice; alternatively, I'm totally okay with shifting this into mainspace any time to let the community start improving it. Townlake (talk) 17:07, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

After a preliminary search, this seems like a small film. "Le ragazze di San Frediano" Google Books only mentions it in passing. An umbrella article would be fine until you can find Italian-language references. Have you tried an Italian Google Search? I do - I'm re-reading the novel in Italian right now, in fact :) I've been trying to avoid leaning too heavily on Italian sources given the English-speaking audience here, but those sources are certainly legitimate to support notability. I'll go ahead and start the umbrella article, and will keep looking for more sources in either language. (And hopefully other editors will too.) Thank you for all your suggestions!

Da grande (film)

Hello, I submitted for approval an article about the film Da grande, but it was declined, although I cited perfectly reliable sources as IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes, and in spite of the fact that the film received in 1988 the Nastro d'argento, an important award assigned by the Sindacato Nazionale dei Giornalisti Cinematografici Italiani, the association of Italian film critics. Translation help

In 1970 Francesco Rosi made the magnificent anti-warmovie Many Wars Ago. The Italian title is Oumini Contro, and the film is based on a novel by Emilio Lussu, Un anno sull'altopiano. I've found out that "omini" is plural of "oumo" which means "man" or "human" (Homo Sapiens), and "contro" means "against". Someone has suggested that the title is delibrate disambigous and simply means "Men against". Others have suggested that there is a kind of reflexity in the title and that "Men against themselves" is more correct. Whats's true ? And is a correct translation of "Un anno sull'altopiano" something like "A year at high altitude terrain" (not high in the air). ? Boeing720 (talk) 16:03, 12 May 2013 (UTC)

Seeking assistance with an editing conflict on the English page. Christopher Leonard attempted to add to the English article content from the Italian article by roughly translating from Italian to English. Editor Lugnuts insists that part of the translation does not meet Wikipedia editing standards, namely by asserting that the contested portion of his translation is not verifiable. Christopher believes that it is verifiable, because the contested content on the English article derives from the Italian article; the translation may need improvement, but it should not be ommited. Request for information on WP1.0 web tool

I started fixing errors in grammar and vocabulary in Il secondo tragico Fantozzi, but I have had to give up because in many cases I don't know what is intended. I strongly suspect it was translated from the Italian wiki article by someone with a less-than-perfect command of English.
