And Ima Hogg, doing it now. Parrot of Doom 21:43, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Parrot of Doom 21:58, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
United Airlines Flight 93, too. Dabomb87 (talk) 22:51, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Phishing, too. Dabomb87 (talk) 23:05, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hmmm, Phishing seems to have garnered 270,000 odd views but a week before it was TFA? Parrot of Doom 23:13, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Strange indeed. Disregard, I guess. Dabomb87 (talk) 23:24, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This stat is heavily skewed to after and including 2009[edit]

I think there should be some category for earlier years also. 18.111.7.117 (talk) 05:40, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Stats only go as far back as December 2007. Parrot of Doom 07:59, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Yeah, Ima Hogg was not a circus emcee or ostrich jockey. That description needs to be changed to what the featured article status really was..... I'll try to find it.14:37, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

100k[edit]

Is there any rationale for the 150k cutoff? It seems that a one-day page view of 100,000 hits is commendable. There were two articles in June (Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress with 108.6k and Jack the Ripper with 138.5k) and Earth with 106.4k from April that could be included in this list. Separate tiers could be created for 300k and above, 200ks, and 100ks to still distinguish those article that do get several hundred thousand views. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talkcontrib) 00:28, 18 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've added 100k+ articles, and I'm pretty sure I got them all, but if someone wants to take the time to double check, feel free. Thirteen additional articles were added to the list. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talkcontrib) 05:45, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Please gain wider consensus before expanding the page-- I felt that 150 was a good cutoff, others may disagree, but let's get more feedback. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 10:05, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I say that we should keep this to just 150k viewed articles. I think that more articles will achieve the goal eventually. I mean, If Emma Watson, Battlefield Earth (film) and Cannibal Holocaust made it passed 150k, why not some other FA? GamerPro64 (talk) 20:05, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds fair to allow for consensus. I left the message a month ago, and since nobody replied I went through each article over the last three years to include the current thirteen additions. Having 365 articles featured a year (not sure when we had the last leap year, but there's another article), and over two and a half years (of trackable statistics), that's nearly a thousand articles. Just over one percent in that time period had 100k views. 150k seems like it was selected arbitrarily, and although 100k is the same, it invites just a few more articles. I figure the goal of the page is to find out what topics are getting the most views and see if there is any relation to the date that is selected. If this page were to have issues with excessive additions in the future, then a separate page could be started for the lower views. But for now, in the history of TFA, to have less than 30 seems reasonable to include. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talkcontrib) 03:49, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As per my standard comment where this page is concerned -- as long as someone is willing to do the work to keep it maintained, I don't object. Raul654 (talk) 03:54, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have no issues with maintaining it, but likely would only be checking once a month for all of the articles for the month to spot any possible additions. Of course, no worries if others are interested in checking more frequently. Does anyone have a rationale for not lowering the bar (well, still impressive bar) to 100k? --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talkcontrib) 04:06, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Please reduce the new blurbs to the first two sentences. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 11:18, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I was going to do that, I noticed they were getting a bit lengthly. Getting to it now. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talkcontrib) 02:40, 22 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

ITN items[edit]

I am just raising the issue if people would be interested in having some similar page for ITN items. For example 2010 Copiapó mining accident got 381k, while Obama had some 2.4mil. Nergaal (talk) 02:47, 14 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Bot[edit]

I think a bot can be set to automatically check TFA's for number of visitors. Nergaal (talk) 21:43, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I was looking to see what articles was over 100k and I quite confused at what I saw for the Rosewood massacre. link. Is this set up right? GamerPro64 (talk) 02:25, 11 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

How about [1]?115.78.193.169 (talk) 09:07, 14 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Cherry Valentine[edit]

Should Cherry Valentine be added to the 100k chart, per August 14-16, or were page views just shy? ---Another Believer (Talk) 19:17, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
