The course is designed for Smith professional graduate students who yearn for a deeper understanding of how unconscious or implicit biases, stereotypes, and stereotype threats work to affect managers, decision makers, and individuals who are being stereotyped. The course also explores organizational barriers to inclusion, including high status groups, value threats, reward structures, and groupthink. students will explore the intersections of personality, dimensions of diversity, social location, lived experiences, socio-political context, and the impact of these interactions on team dynamics. For the Wikipedia Assignment, students will get into teams to discuss and develop a new EDI focused page that does not yet exist or is not covered well on Wikipedia. They will research that topic with quality sources, and build up a well-referenced encyclopedia article.
