Wikipedia:WikiProject Western Australia/Split topic

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The goal of this task is to untangle Wikipedia articles and Wikidata items that conflate multiple Western Australian topics, using the to-do list section below. Essentially:

  • An article ought to be about one main thing (e.g., THE topic), and it must be obvious from the article what that thing is. The same applies to each Wikidata item.
  • The short description is for that one main thing, as is the Wikidata item and any categories with which the article is tagged.
  • The article may digress into other topics, but these are secondary. Each secondary topic may have its own Wikidata item.
  • Not every topic may have its own Wikipedia page, but it probably ought to have its own Wikidata item.
  • Articles may be untangled, such as per WP:SPLIT.
  • Readers may be assisted through judicious application of hat-notes on the separated pages.

Please use the talk page for central discussions on resolving issues, thank you.

To-do list[edit]

Please add new "jobs" into the Queue section with a short description of the things that are being conflated. When working on a job, add your signature to it and move it into the In progress section so you may work on it without interference from other editors that are working on this to-do list. Finally, when completed, move the "job" into the Resolved section, where it may eventually be dropped from the to-do list.
