Hurricane Karl (2004)[edit]

This article just passed GA, and is involved in a current RFA, so it's as good a time as any to start an A-Class review on it. Remember, under the new WP:1.0 rules, there need to be at least three editors supporting A-Class. Personally, I consider the article close to A, but it needs additional copyediting on the storm history, and I'm not sure about the bolding in the impact section.   1. The prose isn't the best. "Karl originated in a strong tropical wave" (in?), "The wave gradually became better organized" (waves to not become better organized into TC's; when did low form). "That afternoon, the depression continued to rapidly organize" (I'd hardly call 12 hours as a TD rapid organization). "rapid deepening began on the evening of September 17" - the source doesn't mention anything about rapid deepening. "becoming the fifth major hurricane of 2004" - this isn't true, as Karl became a major hurricane before Jeanne.     I also think it's missing European impact. It actually struck Europe as an extratropical cyclone. Given how much we have for Maria and Laura for storms which didn't even strike the continent, I think some info is lacking. ♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 04:09, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

    I don't buy that for a minute. I very quickly found a Google source that says flooding from Karl occurred in West Norway. I didn't bother checking, but it's a start. ♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 15:41, 24 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
