Importance scale[edit]
Assessments of importance for articles within the scope of this task force should be based on the following scale:
| Top | Team and season articles, lists of San Jose Earthquakes players and seasons, current stadium |
| High | Owners, general managers, coaches, All-Stars (selected while with the club), designated players, Home-Grown Players, Hall of Fame members, and cup final victories. |
| Mid | U23 (PDL) team, Former MLS home stadiums, current and former players, rivalries, rivalry cups, and cup final losses. |
| Low | 1974-1988 franchise and its players, current and former broadcast personalities, supporters groups, stadiums used for other competitions (CCL, USOC, etc.) and anything else. |
