Old Trafford Cricket Ground[edit]

Have just spent a few days working on this, my home ground's page. I know that it's not perfect, but would like to think that it's an improvement on start-class. Any C&C welcome! Thanks. Southdunedain (talk) 21:25, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Also, sorry, can't get the hang of the peer review system - could someone please clean this up for me? Thanks. Southdunedain (talk) 21:37, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Basnahira South cricket team[edit]

Have recently encountered this article as part of a DYK nomination. Though it's likely to be passed for DYK, it still seems to have a lot of question marks that need answering, and by someone with greater knowledge of Sri Lanka Cricket than me. I have posted a number of content-related questions over at the article creator's talk page. User requested intervention of someone from WP:CRICKET at the DYK nom page, so I was hoping a peer review might do just that. Thanks for any help you can give. Albert Thomas (cricketer)[edit]

Here is a new page, but i would like it to be peer reviewed if possible, thanks. It is the first article i have created since joing wikiproject cricket and i would like to know how i am doing. Steelback (talk) 12:48, 5 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comments "right-arm batter" - sir, can't we use old English words like "batsman" instead of talking the way the Americans do.
The "adapted from ...." can be moved to a reference section in the end.
Would look better if split into a few paragraphs - done, only needed to add extra linesTintin 01:42, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

David Gower[edit]

Aim for FA eventually, need a PR to see how well it is going. SGGH ping! 20:36, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Haven't really read it yet; suggestions based on first impressions :

  • "Gower played 117 Test matches or England between 1978 and 1992, scoring over 8,200 runs. He is one of the most capped and highest scoring players in English Test cricket history, and with 18 centuries he is joint 4th with fellow captain Michael Vaughan in the most hundreds scored by an England player. He is also one of the most capped One Day International players, with 114 matches, however his record of 3,170 runs at 30.77 is less impressive." Not so many stats in the lead, please, the details should be left for the body of the article.
    • Trimmed it down a bit.
  • cricket commentator "so successful that his cricket seemed mere preparation."[1]

Is this is a commonly shared opinion ? If not, would be better to move it deeper into the article.

    • It appears to be, this is actually a quote from his CricInfo profile, which is a fair measure of concensus.
  • There is very little about his time as captain.
    • I shall expand it with the help of some other users.
  • The domestic cricket is not really domestic cricket and contains info on tours. Is this the best way to break it up ? Tintin 13:24, 6 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
    • I shall work on a reshuffle SGGH ping! 13:31, 6 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Cricket 07[edit]

Article obviously not finished, but I think it deserves Start Class rather than a Stub as it has become more than that since last checked. Thanks, Gibbsyspin 08:02, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

List of international cricket centuries by Virender Sehwag[edit]

I hope to put this up for WP:FLC , but need to fix the lead. Thanks Abeer.ag (talk) 16:49, 31 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comments1 : Not just Chappell. Also please use CI whereever possible rather than the blog.
The third paragraph has three "them"s in two lines. Tintin 01:34, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

List of international cricket centuries by Sourav Ganguly[edit]

This list is based on List of international cricket centuries by Sachin TendulkarI've listed it for peer review because I want to make sure eveything is correct and properly formatted. Suggestions on the lead section and what images to be used would be much appreciated. Thanks, Abeer.ag (talk) 19:30, 6 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

SGGH

Well, curiously, my firefox spell checker wants to correct "List of international cricket centuries by Sourav Ganguly" to "Warwick shire" so, that's odd... anyway... I suggest:

  • possibly to reword the opening sentence to have the title bolded?
  • images pilfer some from Gangulys article

  • Colour code the table if possible, it always gives another dimension to the information it can display, but only if you have information you can put in using colours.
Any suggestions on how to do that?Abeer.ag (talk) 05:05, 25 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • there is a lot of empty space to the right, perhaps a reformat can make everything more central
Suggestions, again?Abeer.ag (talk) 05:05, 25 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • why is his batting position not included in the test centuries?

  • the see also section doesn't need his link in there, he is linked in the lead and its a little superfluous given what the article is about, so you don't really need it.
  • rename 'references' to 'notes', personal preference of mine.
  • is the cricket records template box necessary? if other lists have it then yes, if not it seems overly cluttered.
Most lists do have it.
  • good refs, unfortunately wp:mosum might ask us to delink all the dates on them...
  • change the cric info link to the templated one ill do that now
    • ahh... I see the issue, I'll get around it... SGGH speak! 11:59, 26 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • the other external links, they need to say where they are coming from ideally rather than be a total blue link
  • categories! I'll add some now

Hope that helps. SGGH speak! 11:57, 26 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
