The carry-on from Roe v. Wade's overturning is enough to keep it at the top, and it also brought some related topics in (#17, #23). Below it are Stranger Things, four superhero topics, plus the highest-grossing film of the year (#6). We also have two musicians who are on the list for very different reasons, and it's all rounded out by some sport and other politics. And death.

8	Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness	803,366	Two differentiated approaches to superhero adaptations on streaming. Disney+ gets the movie that just got passed in the box office by #6, an attempt to add some horror to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Prime Video releases new episodes of the show depicting how horrifying the world would be if inhabited by violent and all-around unpleasant powered people.

10	R. Kelly	747,663	The day after Ghislaine Maxwell got 20 years in prison, the once-lauded-now-infamous R&B artist got 30, which given his age is effectively a life sentence. It's an ignominious end that came far too late, given people have known about his underage sex crimes since the '90s, and he was previously charged in 2002 but was somehow acquitted. Still, at least it happened; powerful men have been getting away with this stuff for way too long.
11	Candidates Tournament 2022	734,149	This chess tournament got underway in Madrid to decide who will challenge Magnus Carlsen for the World Chess Championship.
12	Cassidy Hutchinson	672,016	This former aide to Mark Meadows shot to prominence after a surprise sixth hearing of the January 6 committee, in which she testified that (among other things) Trump assaulted a Secret Service agent for driving him away from the Capitol, asked aides to let armed supporters into his pre-attack rally, and on multiple occasions threw food at the walls after receiving bad news. Liz Cheney also alleged that Team Trump had committed mob boss-style witness tampering in an attempt to influence Hutchinson's testimony.
13	Elliot Page	639,615	A few months after the Juno reunion at the Oscars, the film's Best Actress nominee returned to the Netflix gig at #5, where Number 7 followed its portrayer's gender transition and has gone from Vanya to Viktor.
14	Eknath Shinde	638,164	The unlikely coalition of Shiv Sena and the United Progressive Alliance governing the Indian state of Maharashtra collapsed this week, with much of the Sena caucus leaving to form a coalition with traditional ally the Bharatiya Janata Party. Their faction's leader is now the state's chief minister.
15	2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine	616,898	The focal point of the war shifted to Lysychansk this week, as it is the last city in Luhansk Oblast not controlled by Russia; Ukraine also retook Snake Island this week. Outside Ukraine, Sweden and Finland seem set to join NATO, attitudes to the alliance having dramatically changed since the war began.
16	Technoblade	590,015	A noted Minecraft YouTuber and streamer whose death from cancer (at just 23 years old) was announced this week.
17	Clarence Thomas	552,504	The Supreme Court's most conservative member, who voted with the majority opinion, has signalled the court may also target contraception and gay marriage.
18	Austin Butler	538,082	Baz Luhrmann's biopic of #4 (which this here writer will have to wait another week to watch) had his Blue Suede Shoes fit by an actor who started in the Disney and Nickelodeon stable and was last seen playing a murderer in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. And another rock legend's legacy is in his future, as his role in Dune: Part Two was once played by Sting (hopefully Butler won't wear the same speedo!).

20	Thor: Love and Thunder	510,832	One of the few movies that could contest #6 as the highest-grossing movie of the year (and who knows if Jurassic World Dominion has legs, or if Minions: The Rise of Gru and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever have the same potential?), the return of Marvel's God of Thunder, whose divine status is now shared by his ex Jane Foster as they face off against a former Batman.
21	Priscilla Presley	496,079	The greatest love of #4 (and Frank Drebin), mother of his daughter Lisa Marie Presley. Olivia DeJonge plays her in #19.
22	2022 Wimbledon Championships – Men's singles	495,211	In spite of being one of the Grand Slams, Wimbledon won't give points to the tennis rankings this year because #15 led the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club to the controversial decision of banning Russians and Belarusians.
23	Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization	472,350	The case that replaced #1 is still here.
24	Serena Williams	471,408	After taking ten months off due to injuries, making her plummet to 1204 in the WTA rankings, one of the tennis' greatest earned a wild card in Wimbledon, and in spite of giving Harmony Tan a fight, lost after a three hour long match.
25	Mary Mara	449,659	Finally, we have the American TV actress well-known for ER and Nash Bridges who drowned this week.
