This is a draft for a proposed Wikipedia article template for oral histories. Its purpose is to standardize how oral histories are presented on Wikipedia, and to make adding links more straightforward.

Proposed fields[edit]

  1. TITLE: Title of the oral history, if one exists
  2. TRANS-TITLE: Translated title of the oral history, if the original is not in English
  3. FIRST: First name of the speaker
  1. LAST: Last name of the speaker
  1. SUBJECT-LINK: Wikipedia article about the speaker, if it exists
  1. INTERVIEWER: Name of the person interviewing the speaker, if present
  1. LANGUAGE: Language of the oral history
  2. URL: link to a web version
  3. TYPE: type of item (e.g. recording, transcript)
  4. ITEMID: unique object identifier where it exists
  5. DATE: Date of creation, e.g. "May 8, 1924"
  6. COLLECTION: Name of collection or project, if relevant
  7. INSTITUTION: Name of institution holding the history, if relevant
  8. LOCATION: Physical location of institution
  1. QUOTE: relevant text quoted from the source
  1. NOTE: other information as relevant
