Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

Both accounts have engaged in undisclosed paid editing on behalf of a reputation management company named Percepto (formerly known as Veribo).

is an obvious UPE per [1] and added promotional content to WE Day.

Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

I believe Cafetownsouthafrica is whitewashing Me to We articles (e.g. [14]) and related topics, with a few innocuous or unrelated edits to try to disguise the sockpuppetry. See the Signpost for further background on the paid editing around Me to We that this appears to be an instance of.

The fact that this is a sock/undisclosed PAID seems to be sufficiently obvious from behavioural evidence, but I rarely engage in SPI (this is possibly my first edit in the area) so of course a more skilled editor can determine if this is the case.

I notice that this is a bit of a sleeper account (first edits on 1 January 2020 and then the next edit, reworking an article into an advert, in July). May be other sleepers around, though not sure if anything can be done about this. — Bilorv (talk) 02:02, 29 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • CheckUser requested and endorsed by clerk - I don't have strong evidence proving they're HenryFriedberg, but they look like UPE to me and are working toward the same ends as some of the socks from HenryFriedberg. Since the last people whitewashing the WE charity-related pages were part of a larger farm, I think CU is justified. Self-endorsing on the off chance there's anything in the CU logs, and whether or not there's any data there, to check whether there are other accounts to be found here.   •  Clerk note: This is...interesting. HenryFriedberg socks pretty clearly show a Sunday-Thursday work week and their timecard suggests they're UTC+2, which strongly suggests Israel (not surprising, since Percepto/Veribo is Israeli). This latest timecard doesn't suggest that at all, and is fairly scattered. That said, CU says they're from the same country as past socks, they're interested in editing about the same company (I see overlap with past socks at ME to WE, WE Charity, Craig Kielburger, and Marc Kielburger), and they sure look UPE-like to me. There are also a couple of other indications I'd rather not mention publicly per BEANS which suggest that Cafetownsouthafrica is related.  Blocked and tagged.
